Is a great game.

The netcode sucks (You really don't know how good HL's netcode is until you play something else). But I believe it still holds its position as the best LAN game. Playing with friends is a ton of fun....and all of our scrims have been a ton of fun...constant action.

You guys should check it out.

    Yeah...after downloading the demo of the PC version, I can safely say that I'm sticking with my xbox version...

    Smoke Nova is now the resident forum socialist, he has every right to be an arse. The 15th of November I will be attending a Halo PC (among other games) lan in Louisville KY. If I remember Ill post how Halo performs in an enviroment of near infinate bandwith.

    He's probably right. I play the demo of BF1942 and it usually lags bad. There is one good server that I always play it on. I guess no one really wants to set up a good server for a demo these days.

    Resident forum socialist? cool! I get a title!

    I have Halo PC, full game. Horrible netcode except if it's LAN. The Graphics engine...bleh, with everything disabled, running 640x480, I get 9-15 FPS on the second level, Halo. Even if I have a budget card, that's horrible. BF1942 with everything on high got at least 30 FPS, with a full battle.

    I agree with CWAG. In 2 or more ADDITIONAL patches it'll be uber fun.

    a little something i noticed mentioned amongst posters on gearboxes official boards is that gearbox actually want to patch in Coop later once they sort all the FPS/netcode/whatever problems out... I didn't check up to see if it's true because it's way more fun just spreading this leaving people to wonder if it's fact or not XD

    Because its overpowered or something? It absolutely pwns everything if you wave it around, due to the netcode, and people keep burning after they kill you, so at the worst you break even.

    No, looks wise its terrible. The attack animations are either missing or horrible, the only nice looking fact about it is the reload animation :O

    And anyway most of the Halo PC stuff is coming in Halo 2 so I am not bothered at all.
