Computer's Not Noticing Ram...
<div class="IPBDescription">It's the right kind too!</div> Ok, today I decided for a little upgrade for my computer. I got a 17 inch flat screen, Optical Mouse, Halo, and a Gig of RAM[Bragging? Maybe ^_^ ()]. I installed everything, and it's all working, but when I checked my computer specs, it doesn't notice my RAM. Wha?! Anyway, anyone know what's going on, and anyone want to play Halo?

Hmm...sure you plugged it into the right slot?
If it was the wrong piece, then it wouldn't even fit into the slot....(I think)
Make sure it's pushed in all the way too!
Did you try putting the taking out the RAM that does work and replace it with your new ram? put the new ram in the slot where your old ram is.

If you didn't clean out the slots, there's a very good chance that the slots had dust in them, which is conductive. At best, a little dust fried, you can clean off the pin-ridge with a lint-free cloth and some alcohol, and dust it. Worst case (MAJOR dust build-up) the RAM is fried, and you can try to return it as defective.
In any case, remove and CLEAN the pin-edge with the little bit of alcohol and lint-free cloth *making certain to allow it to dry fully* before removing the current (working) stick and slotting it there. If the system boots, great. If not.... well.
