Who Is Your Favourite Actor / Actress?

Including reasons, please....
Ok, from the discussion on IRC that's going on, i'm just wondering, who are everyone's favourite actors. But please,
POST REASONS WHY
Don't make this a spam thread, ok, i'll start off...
Bruce Campbell:
Well, it's a bit of an easy one to start with, so i won't post why.
Jason Lee:
Being a Kevin Smith / View Askew fanboy, i've watched a lot of films with Jason Lee in, and he's such a good actor. He perfectly plays a slacker, but an intelligent one, and coupled with Kevin Smith's fantastic dialogue, his performances are absolutely fantastic. If you've not seen any movies with him in, i suggest you check out Mallrats (He plays Brodie) and Chasing Amy (Playing Banky).
Tom Green:
While i've not really been exposed to his TV show much since i can never find it aired, i've only his movies to go on. But i think he's absolutely hillarious and every film he's in is guarenteed to be funny. He just pulls off the most stupid things and no matter how many times you see the movies, it's still funny. I'll definately recommend seeing Freddy Got Fingered, Road Trip and Stealing Harvard, which also, incidently, has Jason Lee as the main character.

I think she's really down-to-earth, and I love her personality. I just *believe* her when she acts. Plus, she was awesome in Mad About You. I was addicted to that show when it was on...
as far as actors, probably Jack Nicholson, who I'm sure other people would say too :> I mean, he's just an awesome actor... his head's a bit big these days, but his classic work is incredible.
for comedy, Jack Black is funny these days =P Steve Martin is one of my favorite older funny movie ppl...
edit: I meant to add Edward Norton, but I couldn't think of his name at the time =P he has a lot of personality...
One of the really big method actors. He manages to blend into his roles well, although one has to admit that he concentrates on a certain number of archetypes.

Tom Hanks:
The most versatile actor Hollywood has right now. He can play anyone and stays convincing.

Kevin Spacey:
Not afraid of difficult and diverse roles, and graced with a face bland enough to fit a multitude of personages.

Mena Suvari:
The only 'beautiful girl' actress I knew about that actually knows how to act.

Natalie Portman:
For her performance in Leon, and only for that.
Generally, the movies offer men the more interesting roles, while most women are forced into clichéd roles you wouldn't wish your worst enemy to be condemned to play into all of eternity. I really feel for them.

Bruce just rocks. Period. Favorite actor .... of all time. Close between Christopher Walkin and Bruce Campbell ... but Bruce is definitely my favorite actor.
Sean Conery: I'm a straight male and I still think his voice is dead sexy.
Jack Nicholson: Hes just really great. I don't think I've ever seen him in a rolehe didn't completely pwn.
Tom Hanks: Again, completely pwns all his roles.
Some of those might be misspelled. But I don't care enough to fix them so nah!
Johnny Depp, always plays incredible characters, makes up little quirks and gestures to make them stand out from his other roles.
Ed Norton, Kevin Spacy, Tom Hanks.
I cant think of any actress, theyre either eye candy or chik flix, wich I dont watch. :/
Besides those mentioned above Morgan Freeman, not the most versatile, but damn good. My fave movie is Shawshank Redemption.
Then there's a lot of those who already got mentioned, like Kevin Spacey, Norton and Brad Pitt(it took me a long time to accept Brad but I just can't stay mad at him after seeing 12 monkeys, Seven, Fight Club, **** etc.) I also like Morgan Freeman. He's a fine actor too. Tom Cruise too. He has done some fine movies.
Bruce Willis for Die Hard, Samuel Jackson and John Travolta for Pulp Fiction(my all time favourite movie). Oh, and Governator of course Turboman bullcrap, Kidergarden cop, Junior, Last action hero, Batman etc. can be forgiven because of Conan O'Barbarian, Terminators and Predator.
I hate to admit it but I don't remember many woman actress'. Portman of course(in Leon naturally)...oh and that reminds me of another great actor; Gary Oldman. I don't know why but I like him. Ugh, so back to female actors...ummm...I give up
Tom Hanks and Jack Nicholson for reasons already stated.
Bill Paxton
Aliens, True Lies, Terminator and a few other films I can't remember the name of he was cool in
Patrick Stuart
Everything he's ever done o.O
Sean Connery
Does it matter? He's just too cool not to be in the list
Johnny Depp
Every Film He's ever been in XD

Aliens, Terminator
Jean Reno
Leon plus a few other ones
George Clooney
dusk till dawn, Oceans elevens (remake)
Brad Pitt
Fight Club, se7en, etc...
Edward Norton
Fight Club, Death to Smoochy
Bruce Campbell
Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness plus the cameos he's done in other stuff like spiderman
Christian Bale
Equilibrium, American Psycho
Vin Diesel
Perfect Dark, Fast and the Furious (I hated xXx ...it was poop on a stick >< )
Kevin Spacey
American Beauty plus a few others
Arnie
Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, Predator, Terminator, Total Recall, Commando, True Lies
Jodie Foster
Contact, Silence of the Lambs
Sigourney Weaver
Alien, Aliens, Alien Resurrection, Working Girl
De Niro.
Reason: all his old stuff, and all his new stuff. it's all great to me.

Christopher Walken.
Reason: whether he's in a serious role or not (the not including such roles as the Mouse Hunt exterminator, and Pulp Fiction's Captain Koons), he's always got that quirk, and amazing poker face, and it just gets to you.
edit: Jude Law.
Reason:

QUOTE (Liku)

Road to Perdition anyone?

he just won me in Road to Perdition.
edit: Jean Reno.
Reason: i love every one of his movies, especially, of course, Leon. saw that when i was but... 10, probably. fell in love with it then, still in love with it.
edit: Bruce Lee
Reason: he's the f***in master.
~~~
and femmes:
edit: Natalie Portman.
Reason: sucks in the SW movies, but she was just.. tear-jerking in Leon. that was when she was 12 0_o
edit: Uma Thurman
Reason: UMAAA!!! *_* (btw see my thread X3)
Beat Takeshi. The fact that he looks and sounds just like one of my uncles aside, he has a very dominating screen presence. And, he's, well... he's Beat Takeshi.
Adding Tony Leung Chiu Wai, because not only is he an incredibly talented actor who can be campletely natural and believable in whatever role he takes on, he's also devilishly handsome.
As for actresses I think my favourite may well be Holly Hunter, because I've had a crush on her ever since Raising Arizona came out. Oh, and she can act the pants off most people too.
Oh, and I need to add Gregory Peck too, for much the same reason as Tony Leung - incredibly handsome, and no slouch in the acting department either.
For her performance in Leon, and only for that.
Word.
I agree with most of you all on the actors you've picked. I would like to also add some to my own list, if you don't mind.
In no particular order:
What I am most surprised is how noone mentioned Marlin Brando.
He is such an impressive actor. His face his voice, it all matches perfectly. His most vivid portrayals for me were movies such as Julius Caesar, apocalypse now, and the godfather.
Denzil Washington: awesome actor for those serious-delierious roles like training day and huricane.
Laurence Fishburne: Matrix and some other flicks. He has this sense of serenity to his acting. Althought not really present in his early works.
James Franco: a really good actor and young talent. Good looking to. City by the sea, spiderman, and such.
Jude Law: Enemy at the gates and road to perdition.
Tom Hanks: I like him a lot. He is so good at any role. He can be a retard and a serious war captain with such realism accompanying them. He deserves every one of those oscars...
Al Pacino: His stuff is pretty good.
The gladiator: Russel Crowe.
Richard Harris: Awesome guy, love his wispy whispery voice in some of his flicks. Most notably Abraham, Gladiator and the such.
And OM#, how come noone said anything about Gene Hackman? He pwns. French Connection anyone?
Daniel Day Lewis: cmon.
Guy Pierce: Memento and such. Good at being the good and bad guy.
Jim Caviezel: Awesome guy. His acting is great and I like the way he expresses things through his eyes and such.
There are a lot of good actresses out there, just don't know where to start.
