    Holy crap...that's great.

Oh and this model has a lot more detail then the other buildings i've done so far. The polycount on this one is 3x the original. Most went in the rounder pipes and the extra detail which i call "depth details", meaning stuff that was normally skinned on to look indented or going out, is modeled.

    Thank you.
The reason why i do not keep track of the other models for downloading is that this is kinda... "beta" models <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

When i put them all into a pack, im gonna change some things to some of them to make'em look better.
Probably even make the textures 512x512 for sharper details.
But not everyone will be able to see them (depends on your video card).
    Still biased towards that decision.
  • sickboysickboy Join Date: 2003-09-13 Member: 20804Members, Constellation
you could always have 2 packs. 1 with all the stuff you already have, and then another for the 512 x 512 textures.

    *shrug*

Thanx much, I've been looking for better models to replace the current NS models while sticking to the NS theme (I've gotten over that whole "Wow, I can be a zergling!" phase). <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

i just wanted to say that after i installed all ur six models
i took such a deep hit in fps....

i just think u should remove some of the polys because after checking the models
i noticed that sometimes its just too highpoly.
for example the feet of the RT are cobnvexe if u know what i mean and u really dont notice such minor things ingame.

well and if u gonna continue making highpoly versions i think it will be very hard to play this game on most of the machines

    my specs

    AMD XP+ 1700
    512 MB RAM
    GEFORCE Ti 4200

I dont know why you would have that problem *cough*NVidia*cough*

I have Intel P4 2.53GHz, ATI Radion 9800 PRO 128, and 512 MB RAM. I use all highpoly models: guns buildings, etc; and my fps is still 100. Do you have the latest drivers?

which is why i dissprove of 90% of the high poly models out there...

sorry, but pushing down your FPS isn't a nice thing to do...

that and all i can distinguish between the two, is the striped pipes, and a chunk missing out of the middle... deffenatly not 100% worth the 3x poly count...

next time, maybe try and make it more round? alot more sophisticated... use the added poly to add depth to the skin, they skinned a bunch of the dtails, on, why not take out those skinned details, and add them to the TF?

That's one of the things he HAS done...

Oh and Dillinja you should check your drivers or something - I use all BP's high-poly models and my FPS is never below 70.

    AMD 1600
    512 MB RAM
    GeForce 2 Ti

Note that my processor is worse tha yours (however my graphics card might be responsible for most of this... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> )

to further enhance my point... i have circled in a flourescant green places on the skin that i would imagine you would have bumped out or recessed...

Delarosa: I know, beleive me. But i prefer to round things up then making every skinned details, 3D.

You can see that pretty much all of my models have smoother cylinders. Thats the kinda thing that I personnally feel is important. The rest of the models

If i had indeed bumped or recessed the areas you have circled, the polycount would of been much higher.
Although i choose carefully which model i do those things depending on how many times you see them in a map. The TF is one of those models you see often, while say, the PG, is not, so i super rounded it.

    P.S.: Oh and btw, the bottom right circle, i did do in 3D <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Then don't use high poly models if it hurts your fps so much. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo-->

    AMD XP 2000+

    Geforce 4 ti4200 - EXPER Overclocked
    Latest Detonators

No problem. Never seen FPS drop below 60. VSync on Refreshrate of 60Hz.

On Quake 3 engine which can handle higher FPS, playing Mohaa:s my fps was usually over 200.

Im using the Win XP drivers for my MX 440.
They work fine. When i tried the Nvidia ones, i had a lot of problems.
Maybe i should try the Detonator ones... link?
