<div class="IPBDescription">so badly......</div> Im fed up with this crap, ive had to reinstall twice, whenever i try to even get into ns is says cannot play game at this time, if i acually get in alot of the time the servers wont show up, and if i find a server and join it i may get disconnected cuz of sprites?!?!?!? WTH its some lame arsed error that kicks u out of ns, but u cant get back into the game because steam thinks i already have one going so when i get into ns again it show two of those halflife guys and it wont let me join a server so i have to restart!!!!!!!!!!

    You may be surprised that i said that (or not, if you look at my sig...) but its the truth.

    I happen to like steam. Its easy to use, and YES there are bugs in it, but theres bugs in any program. Just look at C&C:Generals when it came out! I meen, the bugs that game had?

    -Alt-f4 bug. If you hit alt-f4 when in a game it recorded a disconnect for the OTHER person and a loss!
    -Burning Barricade cheat-You have to play the game to understand
    -Very stupid mistake-If you build a gla scud launcher and upgraded you anthrax bombs to anthrax beta it acutally DECRESED the amount of damage it did! LOL!

    See? All games ave probs.

    this is my biggest and hugestest "ditto" in the world. (and yes, I'm aware "hugestest isnt a word)

    If you (you being people that had trouble with steam) just read the instructions, it is actually super SUPER easy to setup. I installed it (taking time to read the instructions) and had ZERO problems.

    Oh sure, the in-game menu is screwey, and sometimes the sound messes up. But that's something you should all be able to live with. (if not, you have seriioouuusss issues).

    Besides, with most of the "errors" in steam, you can find a quick fix in the forums (look at the stickied topics). With each release, steam is getting better and better. The reason most people hate it is because either 1) They hate the problems with the riot shield in CS 1.6 and blame steam for it, or 2) Hear all the rumors and just get worked up about NOTHING.

    Don't believe me about #2? Well I know that I (As well as most of my friends and fellow gamers) started saying "Steam sux0rz" waay before we even tried it.. simply because we read everything bad about it and started to believe it.

    Some misleading facts about Steam:
    1) It will NOT be pay-to-play. (you can have the OPTION of paying monthly, but you don't have to)
    2) It WILL (and does) support 3rd party mods (... obviously)
    3) Steam is NOT spyware

    There are a lot more, but basically: don't believe everything you read. Base your opinions of Steam AFTER you've installed it correctly (read the instructions, and read the stickied topics in this forum!).

    Steam has bugs. We know it, we live with it, it's a truth for any and every program that has ever come out that did anything useful. VALVe is working on patching bugs, just like any other company. If you played HL when WON was first being implemented, you would remember just how terribly buggy it had been at the time.

    Please read through the forums on www.steampowered.com, as this is not the place to complain about it. Thanks!
