ready to model it
I made a futuristic thompson model for njroo ke's RTX thing... but just adding a drum mag to the thompson and calling it an HMG seemed kind'a boring to me. so i thought up this idea for an hmg... kind'a like an m60, with some rtx influence. suggestions?

*it would be belt fed.

(besides its lack of aiming fixtures)

Really nice looks a bit like the M60 and i got an idea ya could put a box mag inside the gun kinda like in the original HMG. would be kinda cool but it might be a bit plain looking then

not bad.. maybe a bit too long
• Strapon2Strapon2 Join Date: 2003-06-02 Member: 16941Members
yea, those changes make sence. plus i would then make the .. thumb area larger. ( behind the handle)

i could always add on a box mag, but I doubt it would fit inside. the box would need to be shape like a... G, where the lower half is the box, and the upper part comes around from beneth the weapon and into the gun. (note that the bottom would not infact be shaped like a g, it would be a box)

I just dared venture into the garden of concepts (First time I ever touched a concept)

I made the gun magazine fed from a canister mag. (sorta like on the bizon or calio, if you know those)

The Light blue bit is the new magazine, the dark blue is the part of the mag that is inside the gun.

Remember, this is my very first try EVER to do/edit a concept. Dont bbq my behind

you should draw a top, front, and back view, would make it easier for modelers to get the shape that you are wanting.
• TacOneTacOne Join Date: 2002-11-05 Member: 7070Members
Ive never drawn anything before, and now you demand a front, back and top view??

Gah!

Okay, ill try.

bah, i liked the belt fed style. it's cool and all, but the door that you open on the top was really a must for my concept. (m60 like)
• TacOneTacOne Join Date: 2002-11-05 Member: 7070Members
Blah, there's a reason I dont draw alot.

I tried to make a front, but that went down the drain...

Someone else can try. They cant do worse than me.

ah, well, heres my try at it. lol sorry strapon, i completely changed your concept! i couldnt help it, cuz when i start to convert something, i always go too far

well, i dunno if you like this version or not, but heres the RTX HMG.

Yea, its a multiple barrel gun, dunno if it should rotate or not, but i left some room in there for your belt feeding ideas.

comments?

Okies, i started modeling this after one of the earlier pics, I didn't realize it would get altered so much. If anything, thanks for the practice. (2nd model evar)

ack the other one is flawed, use this one instead. (I was mislead by the black and white concept, the color one showed me the prob) polycount = 2900 ish btw
• nthngnsdnthngnsd Join Date: 2003-07-26 Member: 18442Members

you ****! that's my gun, ahrgh... i wanted to model my first concept
(btw, you have over 1700 poly's on the stock... pretty atroshious... you could get away with less than 100 , may want to re-tool that.. )
::crawls into a hole and crys::

For your variation, njroo, I suggest making it a bit longer, barrels/back part and moving the handle back some as not to be right where the bullets will be fed in. plus, just keep it as 2 barrels... and make it a bit skinnier vertically. I'll model your's then. NO JOUST! (aka, I call it! )
