Minor Mapping Idea

    it's a shame because that would add alot to the atmosphere for older gamers who can "handle" that level of gore.

    err... you can ALWAYS do a map with gore and blood, but it just wouldn't be ever official map.
    But you'd have to those textures/models all by yourself

    Yes, sadly they do not want any such thing. No dead bodies, body parts....

    Actually until 2.0 they didn't even have blood. Remember? When Marines got bit they didn't bleed. They added blood there to make it more apparent that you wer being bitten. Ahhh, makes me long for the 1.04 days, with nomblizkikkoman04. Heh.

    The idea wasn't that the NS dev team was catering for "kids" who couldn't handle gore, the idea was that NS was supposed to be a vibrant Science Fiction game, not a dark Horror one.

    Seems silly with HL having am M15+ rating that allows for blood and gore.

    Unless I imagines it didn't the Mapping Guidelines say something about being a "family friendly game" or something, perhaps I did indeed imagine this, anyway, dude GET NOMBLIZKIKKOMAN05 out the door IT PWNED ALL! (Though a little imbalanced once the rines got JPs, heh.

    im not saying to put alot of blood or piles of bodies what im trying to say is put a little of blood on the wall or my be a skeleton or 2 in a hive so you can sort of know what happened to the ships crew

    There's nothing really gory or horrific about a skeleton, it can just be used to show that a lot of time has passed and that there used to be a human presence there.

    Skeletons are a bad idea..way too complex to make, and even then it probably wont look that great, if you use a solid skeleton texture it would look lame.

    the server controls the entities right?
    ok lets say you have a "under 18" version of your map, a normal ns map with no fancy things like blood, bodyparts etc.
    FOR THE PLAYERS!
    but server will get another version... tadda! oh, look, I found a way to make our server more popular XD

    neone play one of nippers LOTR maps for cs? it was i think the 2nd moria one with a skeleton model that looked sweet. Plus i just finished the triology last week and is Gandalf one of the three?
