Centralized Location For Demos

<div class="IPBDescription">puttin' out the feelers</div> I love demos. They're great for learning new strats, analyzing clans, etc. The problem is that they are often hard to find and are usually spread all over the web. There is no centralized location from which to download them.

So, I'd like to know: how much interest would there be in creating a demo website, say www.nsdemos.org or something similar. The idea would be for clans or HLTV users who take demos to submit a link to the central site. That way the demos would not necessarily have to be *stored* centrally (since they can be quite large) but would just be linked to.

Thoughts?

    That's actually a pretty good idea. But the hosting would eventually get to be quite expensive, and the site would have to be a bit more than just demos... (ns news, real life news, reporting/commentry on major matches etc).

    But yeah, really good idea. I'll help out anyway i can (except money, i'm a kid and i have £40 a month coming into my acount, and about £35 a month going out <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    I was thinking something like, have the main page set out like the main NS one (like the news in the middle, side bar etc) which is a basic enough layout. Have whatever you want in the news, and have a "Demo" section on the left, where you can get all the demos.

    Anyway, 'tis your idea, so go with what you think is best <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I would be interested in helping. I am obtaining a server with "Unmetered Bandwith" that would allow such a site to exist. Heck, I will actually buy the domain if some people are serious about doing this!

    Those places don't have many demos on them, and those that are on there are just of major matches.

    I think what he has planned is a huge database with hundreds of demos, which would be hard, but they could all be categorised. Plus it wouldn't just be major matches, could be any decent game.

    The problem with a major database is that most demos are crap. Even most of those major matches are crap. Also, only major matches are usually recorded as demos. (that and short humorous moments) I'd much rather see a very small database of only the best matches.

    (I've been going through demos and elminating some based on loose criteria.)
