Brak is the most annoying character ever invented. In fact, the Brak Show is the most annoying, wasteful spot on a networks program schedule in the history of television. The only remotely funny, cool or useful thing about it is Zorak, who you can watch on Space Ghost.
What's even more annoying than the show, is the fact I have to listen to his [expletive deleted] [expleteive deleted] [expletive deleted] songs on comedy central during Adult Swim. Family Guy is funny, Futurama is funny, Inu Yasha is good, Blue Gender is weird (and i generally don't watch it, but it's okay), Trigun is awesome, Cowboy Bebop is okay (I'll watch it, but if I'm tired I'm not staying up for ti).
However, Brak's lame [expletive deleted] 'news' pieces are not only stupid (and purposefully badly done), but also annoying as hell. I can't stand to listen to that unbelievably horrid [expletive deleted] that spews out, interupting my otherwise well done programming. They would be just bearable if they weren't a [expletive deleted] minute long! A minute, A MINUTE of badly written, terribly voice acted [expletive deleted]. What the [expletive deleted] is that? Whoever thought that up should be fired immediately.
What's even more annoying than Brak, is that stupid gray thing that wants to be Brak, which has an even worse voice. I don't care if they're purposefully made that bad, but that is not what you want to do to entice someone to watch a show. It should NOT interupt what I was watching and hearing before it.
Now, someone will say, "Use the mute button", "change the channel" or "don't watch cartoon network." To the first, my TV's remote is broken and I have no mute; beside that, nothing should be so annoying as to make me have to mute it because it's that bad. To the second, no commercial or show pitch should be so annoying, with such a different fan base, that it makes someone change the channel. To the third, a terrible commercial shouldn't be interupting the otherwise well chosen programming.
I'm all for off the wall, completely insane programming. Sealab 2021 is one of the funniest shows ever (right up there with Family Guy), as is Aqua Teen Hunger Force (which is really dumb, but at least it's funny). The Brak Show however, is such a terrible piece of crap that the animators should be severely beaten, and the voice actor for the character should (despite the fact their voice probably sounds different, no one should make something that [expletive deleted] annoying).
Now, I'm sure someone supports the horrible songs that Brak does during his 'show'. I'm sure they are, to you, but that does not mean I should be made to suffer through undescribably bad voice acting (even if purposefully) as a commercial. Well, I'm sure someone that likes Brak is saying, "I hate so and so, just as much!" Yea, well, tell me what you hate. I bet it's not quite as much as the searing hatred within my heard yearns to destory all that is Brak and it's horrible attributes.

The thing is, there really couldn't be much of a Zorak, without dullards like Brak and Space Ghost around to feed him straight lines. So if you don't have your Brak, you can't have any Zorak. How can you have any Zorak, if you don't have your Brak?

You do realise that all the Williams street cartoons are done on a standard 10 minute cartoon length? There are countless other cartoons on this same time format (ie, nearly every other cartoon on the cartoon network, and I can't think of one on Nickelodeon not on that format)

Ok, so Brak's voice is annoying, but 10 minutes of a picture of Sealab with the lights out isn't? That's just weird. And Aqua Teen Hunger Force does own all.
In conclusion: Brak is a musical and comedic genius, how can you deny that "Runaway" is funn? Colds have been elliminated!

Space Ghost is funny, for completely different reasons, for one, Brak's annoying voice isn't wailing in your ear the whole time. Second, he has 'special guests' like his 'wife' Bjork, or all those other people you never remember (Bjork is just to crazy to forget). It has mild satire, providing an actual meaning to the show (besides the just mimicry of a late night talkshow). Space Ghost is good, the Brak Show isn't.
As careful reading would point out, I'm annoyed at his minute long commercial/'watch the Brak show because I'm annoying the crap outta you' thing going on. I have seen the show before, it's incredibly annoying (again, to me...I'm not saying you have to be annoyed...). Which is why I don't watch it.
I watch Adult Swim, M-T, and occasionaly on Sunday (but not the Brak Show). He has the 'Adult Swim News' which is possibly the most annoying thing ever created. It's just such a horrible choice of shows to put in as a commercial...lets compare:
Family Guy - present time, funny satire, fairly good animation
Futurama - future, funny, character development, mild satire, good animation, occasional 3D scenes
Inu Yasha - fairly large medieval (Japan) influence, occasional humor, large character development, japanese based animation
Blue Gender - future ....don't really watch it...people run around and shoot stuff...I'm sure there's character development, japanese based animation
Trigun - future/wild-west mix, beginning episodes have humor, great character development and overall plot, japanese based animation
Cowboy Bebop - future (mild wild-westiness with the bounty hunting), again, I generally don't watch it
Now...let's look at Brak
Brak - attempt at present, but mixes of past and future, with the only concurrent theme being Brak's house, 'zaney' looney tunes based humor (rocket launchers to the face, robots shooting lasers and 'scorching peoples faces') with updated language (not on par with the humor presented in any of those other shows) with annoying voices (which, no matter how original you want to be, shouldn't be a sales angle...it's idiotic), no character development (Brak is always stupid, 'clarence' is always annoying, Zorak is always evil, no intelligence is ever shown by the characters), South Park-ish style 'lets waddle cut-out drawings accross the screen' animation (maybe it's not quite the same, but it's close).
The commercials are done just like his shows. (yes, Space Ghost is made with that cheap animation too, which I don't like, but it's sufficient for a talk show, but almost nothing else)
If you don't see a very stark contrast between the Monday-Thursday Adult Swim and the Brak Show you need a strong thwacking to set you straight (Again, I'm not saying you don't have to like either, I'm just saying they're completely different, and some people wont like one end). Perhaps I'll do a comparison of all the Sunday Adult Swim cartoons, to show you how they actually fit together decently well.
