<div class="IPBDescription">New Poster - Alien Based!</div> Well, some of you may remember the wallpaper I made a while ago. I've always wanted to make an Kharaa based poster, but never could figure out how I was going to make it original. I think I succeeded. Check it out at my website.

<a href='http://dhpersonal.flagmanwebdesign.com/natsel.htm' target='_blank'>http://dhpersonal.flagmanwebdesign.com/natsel.htm</a>

The old poster is back up as well. It's on the same page, so you can reminiscence while you download the new wallpaper.

Scared? Here's a thumbnail of the new wallpaper.

    He's trying *or i think* to make it look like the fade is coming through the broken door, so his arm is actually behind it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Looks nice, but that text at the bottom is hard to read, even on the larger ones.

    It's meant to be a movie poster, I think... Well, that's why the text is there.

    I thought about that, but I really wanted to make a movie style poster.

    Did I fail?
  • MedHeadMedHead Join Date: 2002-12-19 Member: 11115Members, Constellation
    Okay, took the movie stuff out, made the text larger.

    I like both versions, but the new one (w/o the extra text) is better just because the original movie text at the bottom looked almost as if you forgot to use anti-aliasing (or however you spell it).

    I think you should be able to see the left claw a little. It looks kind of strange. Maybe make it's left claw look like it's pulling the doors apart?

    If ya guys can't get the hint, that fade obiviusly is doing the same thing as the Alien Drone done in Aliens movie when they gone they escaped to the APC, you saw that drone trying to get in and had head stuck between the doors. I realised it immidately when i saw the pic.

    You're still wrong skinny <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    The fades arm has made a hole in the door, like its bursting through.
  • MedHeadMedHead Join Date: 2002-12-19 Member: 11115Members, Constellation
    I don't think I cut anything off the arm. I took a pose from Half Life Model Viewer. The Fade is turned to show us its left side - the arm is hidden behind the face of the Fade. The left claw of the Fade is behind the door in the pose. It's not cut. The right arm of the fade has a shadow, which may be confusing some people. Perhaps it's too thin, I don't know. I can't make a new pose either, really. Natural Selection went away when The Specialists came by.

    It is a great poster, but even if he's trying to get through the door you can't have the arm appearing outta it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Also would like to see a textless version, maybe converted into a pre-load for joining games.

    Make the door look a little more like it's broke.

    Just to show what I meant in my post. This was just a really quick example, the claw looks a little wrong, but you should see what I mean.

    (Sorry for editing the picture <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Yeah that's what I was gonna suggest...show just the bony claw of the left arm to make it seem like the fade ripped the door off it's hinges...or...tracks...or whatever them newfangled fancy space-age doors have <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Also have some of the arm showing (like the wrist) so it doesn't look like there's a fade claw glued to the door.
