<div class="IPBDescription">How can I change it?</div> Hey,
To keep Harry happy, I have an iso file that has mysteriously managed to get an .exe tagged onto the end of it.
I am desperately trying to kill of that .exe on the end but I cant for the life of me figure out how. I tried right clicking, going to properties and changing it in there, but all that did was create a tiny batch file.
Can anyone tell me how I can edit the file type to I can burn that darn thing. It wont let me unless I knock that exe off.
Thanks in advance

here is what you do:
go to DOS, navigate your way to the ISO.exe
use this command to rename it:
ren X Y
note: im not 100% about that command, but its something similar.
X is the old filename, Y is the new.
Windows XP?
Because in that case unless you know some super-duper way of doing it, your fsuked.
Unless you use Nero for it and just get it to read all files. That might work....
(Please note I am assuming it is legal, but could be wrong, nuke me if you need too.)
Thanks for the help Potter, I'll give that a go. Might I also note that ISO's are in no way any more illegal then MP3's.
I tried using nero read all - it wouldnt accept it with the .exe on the end
Back to basics, back to dos.
EDIT
Okay I did that and it works perfectly.
Even if it is something like:
blahblahblah.mp3.mpg.exe.iso.rar.zip
So you can rename it quite easily -_-
But yeah, warez bad.
you do know that you can simply tell winXP to SHOW thew file extensions, yes?
(note I am trying to remember how I do it with out being infront of XP so hang on ;P)
start --> Settings(might not exist if so skip) --> controll panel(if this don't exist hit you computer with a sledghammer, repetidly ;P) --> Folderoptions --> View Tab --> unclick hide fileextensions for known files
would yah look at that win2K has it also, huh
