LoL necro good luck, I had trouble enough motivating them to play Astrowars, and its pretty much the same thing.

That said, my faith in web based rts' has been restored by astrowars, and as such I am going to take the 30sec I will need to check this game out.

EDIT Whoa hang on, this aint no web based RTS, its downloadable, 170 mb. This could be good.....

As would be expected. SG stayed in beta for a year, couldn't balance, then went pay with virtually worse balance then they started with, and have constantly been balancing again through the pay period. If you can get past the fact that any character with 20 more levels then you will probally be able to kill your units instantly, it's fun. However, it's almost impossible to fight anyone near your level anymore...

how so? i'm level 9 now, and at level 5-7 i took out 10, now at level 9 i can take of 15's with help i can take on a lvl 22

I've heard a lot of decent things about this game, so I finally tried it out last night.

The whole time I was playing it, I cringed whenever I saw a 'new' area - no matter where I went, the graphics were the complete opposite of 'good'. Running around in Hero mode seemed a lot like UO (<i>I played UO for a month and hated every minute of it</i>). Battle mode was interesting, but frustrating. After much trial-and-error (<i>aka "getting slaughtered"</i>), I've finally settled on playing as an Infantry-only Hero. When it finally came time to shut it off and go to bed, I was thankful.

Then came the many hours of not being able to fall asleep because I wanted to play SG a bit more. Seriously! I never realized how much fun the game really was until after I shut off my computer after my first game! I'm now typing up this post as quickly as possible so I can load up a game and get a few quick skirmishes in before I cook up a quick supper.

The fun comes from either pushing into enemy territory or defending your faction's hard-earned ground. Battles can handle up to 15 players per faction, and each player can have armies of at least a half-dozen units. Trust me, it gets just a little bit insane.

If you've never tried it or wasn't interested at the time because the graphics look like dog poop, I'd highly recommend downloading it and playing for a few hours. It's free to play (<i>but you can pay to get more rewards</i>), so there's really nothing to lose except those few hours.

My suggestion to you: do NOT CHOOSE ONLY ONE CLASS OF UNIT.

Get units from all four divisions, and LEVEL THEM ALL EQUALLY.

i agree with red, i'm using shades for both anti air ground (ga/gg), imps for gg, ghasts for gg, hawks for aa, eagles for ag, manticores for ga, pegasus's for ga/gg, sprites for ga/gg.

ga = ground to air
gg = ground to ground
aa = air to air
ag = air to ground

pegasus and manticore are mobile (tanks)
hawk and eagle are air
the rest are ground.
