I am after a small team of mappers, etc, that can help me (the team lead, and last person on the project) get sp ns public
everything is set
we have a fully working code system
all models done
all sounds done (Theif3wanabe can do more if need be)
Flay has also said its ok, untill he says, stop for leagle reasons or such
We just need some mappers
At the moment, i have personaly done 5 maps, from about the start, to the 1st mission

you just need to build a mini mission map set, say 6 maps, with an objective behind it, such as scout out a hive
the download at the spns site is the old developer pack, i have the new one, but won't be puting it up for about 1 more week

Much like how we are supporting the NS:Movie, we would also like to help you and NS:SP.
Draw up an AD for us to host on commchair and we will post it to help you out.
We don't want to see this project die, its got too much potential.
I'm just now learning how to map SP half-life and my mapping skills are somewhat... limited (cubes are my best friend <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ).
But I still love the idea. A few scripted sequences to introduce the different aliens would rule, like an onos breaking through a wall, or skulks dropping down from the ceiling e.t.c.
Could you just enlighten me as to how this is going to work? I mean, what AI's are you using?
Sure, skulks can just use zombie AI (provided you up their movement speed of course)
Fades could possibly use the Hgrunt AI, but that might not look right with acid rocket being at 3 hives.
Lerks would have to be alien controllers with the speed majorly increased
Gorges... I don't know... I guess they could use alien slave or Barney AI..... But since they wouldn't actually build (all the OCs would be pre-built I presume) they would just run away a lot. Meh, if you can make it work, make it work! Im all for a single player NS campaign, if it's done well.

Have you made the AI any smarter to deal with the complexities of NS?
Wall walking, leaping, webs...?
Also are all the aliens going to start at hive 3 abilities and the deeper you get the more upgrades they will have?
And uh... I would sure like to see an Onos rampaging through a door charging at you.

So light marines have barney AI and Heavy marines have human grunt AI?
Sorreh, but me no likey.
This means that only the heavies will actually ACT like marines; the light marines will just stand there and shoot. If anything it should be the other way round, Heavies being less mobile and all.
Headcrab for skulk could work, as long as the regular walking and turning speed is drastically increased.
Assasin for fade.... with ranged attack removed I presume? Otherwise yeah, when they backflip it's like blinking away <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Garg for onos..... fine. As long as you make sure it can be killed by conventional weapons, not only explosives like the garg <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Also it might be a bit big for an onos.....

and its only 1 line of ocde that makes the garg in val, so i comented that out, and now he can die
the ony takes the gargs hit box, as well

they need to know
- how to make ns arhticher
- single player missions - so difrent ways to the end objective are a almost a no, no
- understand about monster placement, med packs, ammo packs - so mapping for sven coop, would help
- understand how to trouble shot change levels
- don't have much care for r_speeds - becuase single player can be upto 2 x mulity player r_speeds
- can work with a limited texture set, or are willing to find textures, and wad include them
- there is more, but these are assoumed knolage, and responsablitys

Will this be a guide to playing the game offline or just a diversion from online play?
of course, if the demand is made, some maps, can be made ns mp, though i am also planing on making the addon, sven coop friendly, so you can play with friends useing the sven coop mod (http://svencoop.com)
