<div class="IPBDescription">For the ska fans out there</div> Oh dear. Well, according to their official website, <a href='http://www.kingprawn.co.uk/' target='_blank'>kingprawn.co.uk</a>, King Prawn have decided to call it a day.

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Yes it's true. Everyone's doing it so we've decided to hang up the mic, plectrum and sticks. Our last ever show will be on Saturday 27th September in the North Pole. We will not be playing with the VGS in November or with Capdown (as rumoured).

We'd like to thank all the bands, friends and people that we've met along the way for making us feel welcome wherever we've gone. There has never been a dull moment.

Unfortunately, our mailing system is down, so spread the word...<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Bah, they'd only just recently began getting themselves heard in the mainstream (Dominant View was on the Kerrang! TV and P-Rock playlists) and they're calling it quits. This is a sad day for ska fans out there and a harsh blow to the UK ska scene. King Prawn have always been one of the most energetic acts out there and are a total pleasure to see live.

Why must good things come to an end?

<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>By the way, if you don't know of King Prawn, don't bother to post saying "Who the hell are they", i know they're not the biggest of bands, but they are well known in the ska scene, at least in England.</span>

Damn didn't think anyone here would have heard of them, big up the esuna massive. Got to see them again at Leeds festival which I guess was pretty much their last show. It is a pity to see them go, and at the same time as Lightyear as well the Uk ska/punk scene has been dealt a heavy blow. Well good luck to whatever Babs and the crew go onto do and a big hooray for all the bands staying in there AND all the new and upcoming bands that don't suck ¬_¬

Yeah Lightyear are doing their "Farewell Tour" so if you can catch them do it now before its too late. Saw them years ago before they released Call of the Weasel Clan with Evil Macaroni and saw them again a few weeks ago as part of the last tour. Just as bizarre, hilarious and musically talented as ever. Despite Neil getting naked right in front of me ¬_¬
