<div class="IPBDescription">Rts with fist person units is impossible</div>Just to let u no, I new to this. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

Anyways, I think that the RTS with the FP view will be impossible because one ###**** or another will probaly get a kick out of ruining the entire game by not listening to orders or sending the entire marine squad to die when being a commander. (dumb commanders do that) Also, what if a inexperianced commander keeps on putting the turrets wrong or screws up the commands alot, can u vote him off and someone on?   Last but not least, is being in command perspective gonna be like in the C & C Tiberian sun view or the can u move the perspective around like in black or white.  If u can get past all these problems then this game could be the BEST AND THE SWEETEST and POSSIBLY GET REALLY FAMOUS.

    Hmmm... Where to start?

    True, a person could deviate from where his commander wants him to go. This troop could also not receive any weapon/armor upgrades from the commander, convincing him to walk the straight and narrow.

    If this "llama" person is a commander, he could set waypoints at known alien hotspots, however, the marines make the choice of whether or not to move in. They can always ignore the waypoints, and there is talk of an option to vote down the commander. Think of the commander directing his troops where to go as providing "suggestions". Marines don't have to listen, and he doesn't have to give these suggestions.

    The commander selects the points for the turret, the marines have to build it. If they don't want to waste the points for the turret, they need not build it, and I think the commander will genuinely get the idea.

    All of these things were considered a long time ago, else this mod would not be proceeding forward. I understand that you are new, but please try to read the information at natural-selection.org and readyroom.org before stating that none of these RTS/FPS ideas will work.

    Thanks,
    SM

    And the last note:

    The command perspective will be like C&C, not B&W. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Welcome Capt. Proton,

     Yeah, these are tough issues to be sure.  We have solved a lot of problems to get this far with NS, so I'm confident that if (WHEN) we have more unforseen problems (esp. with team-killers and the equivalent when they play as commanders), we'll be able to fix them.

     I think people will tolerate some small amount of abuse, as long as the majority of NS games are a good experience.  We'll definitely have a 'vote commander down' option (one that's easy to invoke and vote with) and we might implement some heavier server policing if necessary (more details to come).

    how can you possibly have 163 posts?

    Anyhow, interesting perspective. Not realistic, under these circumstances tho. At least, it is very rare, and safeguards are in place to out lamers.

    However, I remember CS's culture changed a lot, and for the worse. If NS has that kind of staying power, I wonder what the community will be like 2 and more years from now.

    There is nothing new under the sun.

    Look how many times these thoughts have popped up, and its counterpart (following orders blindly).

    Reminds me of other things..

    THink of how much has happened in this time, and how much you could have accomplished..
    yet here are these same things, again

    What was it like, then?
