I Finally Figured Out

where that marine death sound comes from
The file sound/player/role1_die2.wav has bothered me for some time now. I recognized and KNEW I heard it before. And seeing as the sounds are from a common database, I knew chances were good that I had heard it before.
Turns out, it was from a Super NES game. From a game released in either '94 or '95. It was a unique game, because unlike so many other games in it's genre, it sported fancy mode 7 graphics. The game? NHL Stanley Cup! A great Hockey game made by Nintendo. That sound is the noise made when a player gets checked.
So this is proof that the TSA Marines have Canadian blood in their family trees! THIS explains why they only have 4 weapons and use "old" technology weapons instead of lasers and plasma bombs or whatever!
