Problem With Dedicated Server

<div class="IPBDescription">wont load files</div> When i try to host a dedicated server by running Hlds.exe it sits at this:
PackFile: C:\HALFLIFE\valve\pak0.pak : skill.cfg
and will not load the rest of the files. When i type status it says can't "status", not connected. However, when i go into half-life and click create game and check dedicated server, it loads all the files and works fine. I am trying to make a Natural-Selection server but i have also tried it with just normal half-life and it still just sits there.

Do you load a map when you start your server? You have to do that in order to make it run. Add +map ns_bast (or whatever map you want) to your command line.
