<div class="IPBDescription">And why I love it</div> <span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'><span style='font-family:Times'>Hello, I have been lerking (Pun intended) in these forums for some time now, and I decided to express my pleasure with NS, which I have for a very obvious reason. I became interested in NS when I first heard about it's premise, and I downloaded it on Halloween to try it out. I have been hooked on it ever since. Here's to Natural Selection, the only Half-Life Mod set in a Doctor Who type Science Fiction setting. </span></span>

Doctor Who triggers something in a very remote corner of my brain (ain't many of those, not much room in here - greetings, lolfighter's mind), but I can't quite place it. Don't remember if NS has anything to do with Doctor Who. The daleks are just about all I remember, and I haven't seen one of those in NS yet.

Note to mind: Stop doing that!

Usually anyone with a 10 or less post count you can't tell the difference between serious or joke.

id say the two biggest influences on NS environment/setting would be

    Starcraft
    Event Horizon
  • CrystalSnakeCrystalSnake Join Date: 2002-01-27 Member: 110Members
    And Starship Troopers!

I'm in love with NS setting as much as I am the game itself. My only gripe is that it borrows a whole lot from Aliens and Starcraft. Not that it cheapens the setting at all because the look and atmosphere is quite original...I just can't help myself from saying, <b>"We're on the express elevator to hell, going down!"</b> every now and again.

    Imagine:

A skulk patrolls the lonely corridor leading up to the marine start in Ns_hera. He meets a lone rambo and savours the kill as he falls onto his unsupsecting neck, enjoying standing over the now lifeless bosy. Then suddenly, out of the darkness, and the smog, he hears:

    "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! Hawhawhawhaw-haw, Hawhawhawhaw-haw..."

Yes well. And who says there's no humour an the forums...
