WHA?!?!?
I just saw Eraserhead for the second time yesterday, and I've got to say I still have no idea what this movie means. So has anyone else seen this particular weird movie? And if so, does anyonehave any idea what it means?

I think I get some of the sex symbolism, but the whole "Eraserhead" thing makes my brain hurt.

thats right... just like regular chickens.
i really didnt 'get' eraserhead, but to some degree, i think thats the point.
i read some article about lynch when he was talking about his works, he says meaning is a very personal thing. I think everyone will find a different meaning to the film, all it sets out to do is provoke thought.
but then, maybe im just too lazy to watch it properly

Yeah, Bill did rule. He taught me a valuable lesson about appreciating plumbers. And David Lynch was a rather effed up person, but i know that a lot of it has a very concrete meaning, it's not just an interpertational peice. The woman in the radiator has a very concrete meaning, for instance. She is portrayed to represent death, but I'm just really mystified by the eraserhead symbol. It's obviously important (it is the title after all) but I just can't get my mind around the meaning and it's really driving me nuts. I mean, is he saying that his head is used to correct mistakes? Or is he saying that it is used to erase people's work or art, as opposed to the pencil itself which is used to create? Or am I way off?
