A Plea For New Gaming Forum

Lately I've seen few gaming related discussion in Discussions forum. I know that game-discussions can be serious as well but I'd rather keep latest Tomb Rider discussion and a discussion about Meaning of life in separate forums. If I understand correctly, Offtopic is for various goofing and Discussion is for serious discussion about real life issues. Hence I think it might be a good idea to have a third forum in the 'others' category, where all the gaming discussion about Half-Life2, Final Fantasy and Doom could go. I hope that other forumgoers agree with me on this.

What ever is decided, it's certain that if all gaming discussion is allowed in Discussion forum, it's going to get messy, concidering you can make a serious discussion of any game.

I'm not sure where to put this thread or if I should PM to moderators but I trust that mods know what to do with this thread <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

i wonder what are the implications of using the word "discussion" 12 times in [edit: bothered to read it this time,] 1 post? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

To me discussion is simply...uh..discussion on something ( anything), while off topic is to generaly goof off /post links to stuff.

Maybe make a "Gaming" forum or something, talk about some games and other new mods, and of course talk about how much HL-2 will own. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> But couldn't all the gaming talks go into the Off-Topic forum?

"Off-Topic" simply means "Not related to NS." Therefore, gaming discussions certainly belong in there, and have frequently been found there in the past.

But I'd like to know what is the right place for gaming related discussion, so I know where I can make my own gaming theads. If I make a gaming thread in offtopic, are you going to kick it to discussions or are just going to let us decide what is the right place?

I'd just like to get a straight answer so we all would know where to put gaming discussions instead of just making them in 'offtopic' and 'discussion' randomly.

A topic about violence in gaming, or game ratings, or controversial new developments in the industry might belong in Discussions. "New Homeworld 2 demo is out!" belongs in Off-Topic.

    Casual conversation: OT
    Serious debate/discussion: Discussions
