Windows 2000 Help!

<div class="IPBDescription">Windows Update doesn't like me</div> I just ran Windows Update, and installed many updates including the following:

Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
Internet Explorer 6
DirectX 9.0b
Twinview
various security fixes
and some other stuff.

Everything installed fine; however, all of a sudden my computer (P3 800, 384MB RAM, dual monitors on a GeForce2 and a Voodoo Banshee) is *constantly* running at 100% CPU usage. Nothing is laggy - it's as if the CPU cycles are "unavailable" until a program needs them, and then they *are* free. This means that most of my programs appear to run no problem, with the exception of idle-priority processes. Since they only use "free" cycles, they don't run well because my computer doesn't think it *has* any free cycles.

What gives? Any help would be much appreciated.

I actually think this has come up some where before, it doesn't use actually use 100% or something, it's just there to make your comp look busy I guess :\

Found the process: nvsvc32.exe is taking as much of my system as it can. It's my nvidia driver (I think) -- I'm going to look into it. Maybe it doesn't like the Banshee.

All better! Apparently it's not a bad thing to simply disable the process, so I did and we're all good.
