I think it's just wasted, seeing as those are individual bonuses.

Yes, res overflow has been removed AFAIK. That means when you're at 100 res, any res you gain from RFK or res nodes is just lost and not given to the other aliens. Incentive to drop some chambers, or evolve to onos... and if you're already an onos and you've got 100 res again it's doubtful your team is in trouble.
