<div class="IPBDescription">come take a look</div> Was tired of the blocky res node model so remade it al with more sides.
Instead of the 130 some polys that it was before, it's now 720 polys and smooth as a baby's behind! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Lovely. I'd been trying to think of something good to replace the (slightly shabby) default nozzle with. I hadn't thought of simply making it higher-poly.

    I think there's a reason it wasn't round.... like, because it's metal?.... Easier to make?...
  • BlackPantherBlackPanther Join Date: 2002-02-11 Member: 197Members
    No. Just to save on polys <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    But since most of us got high end computers.. no need for us to have play like low-enders <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Honestly, u should really remove the unused polygons to speed up the game a bit. This model can be done with less than 450 or 400 polygons as well. U could try Polydump to see some results (it's freeware).

    Oh yeah, I've done the Onos and the Skulk in Highres for NS 2.0 but I cannot compile it ("Found vertex with invalid bone assignment...") Can someone help me and explain how I can fix this one? Thx anyway <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It sounds like one of the vertexs on your model is assigned to a non-existant bone. If it tells you which Vertex it'll be easy to find... otherwise... have fun.
  • BlackPantherBlackPanther Join Date: 2002-02-11 Member: 197Members
    The whole point is to make it high poly but make it looks like the original.
    And i'm making this for poeple with high end computers... so... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And i couldn't remove the under side of it cuz the PG is often in weird places where you can see it's underside.
