Slow Mouse Speed

As you may or may not know I recently lost my CPU and replaced it. I went ahead nad upgraded to windows xp at the same time. NS runs fine but the mouse is very slow when using the menu and im not sure why.
My windows mouse is set to rather quick, and my in game sensitivity is set up to 20. However if I hit my button to open the menu (where you can build, upgrade, or talk to commander) then the mouse moves slow. Also if I get the cursor to mute someone that mouse is slow.
Any ideas how to speed it up? I accidently dropped an OC on a res node today due to the slow speed, im use to it being faster.

It was always fine with windows2000. It hasn't done this until after I formatted and upgraded to xp. Im not sure if it has to do with losing my old config, or has to do with xp, or what.
I can't really comm ether though. The mouse is so slow its hard to place things or drop health packs quickly and effectivly. Of course shooting is still easy because mouse sensitivity adjusts normally, I can aim at normal speed. Its only the mouse cursor when it appears (i.e. command chair, menu, or trying to mute someone).
Ive not installed any drivers for it since I couldn't find any though I guess I probably have a disk i can install them with, ill try that. As for mouse acceleration I couldn't find that anywhere in the menu so thats a good bet that its the problem. I always had mouse acceleration before because in other games I needed it.
Ill let yal know.
Check your DirectX version, 9.0b is the latest
Make sure nothing is running in the backround
I installed the drivers but it didn't update the mouse control window which pretty much does nothing for me.
UPDATE: Got it working. I went and downloaded the logitech most recent drivers rather then the ones off my disk. The first time I went to their site I couldnt' find any but thats because I was looking for the specific mouse.
At any rate their page said it wouldnt' work with xp but it does so I got acceleration. Then it didn't work still and pisssed me off, went to check and by default it had "disable acceleration in games", which I unchecked. Now my speed is normal again.
Thanks for everyone who helped.
Im running winme, have a amd athlon 900mhz cpu, 800mb of ram, and the ATI Radeon 7200.
I can't install windows XP with this (old) video card because when I do, my computer just restarts whenever the little window that says "Found New Hardware" pops up.
GG **** computer.
Please help before I throw this computer away (seriously).
I solved it by adjusting the mouse acceleration (not mouse speed).
What kind of mouse you got?
Mines a Logitech Mouseman+ model M-CW47
