I don't really feel like testing the RIAA, so does anyone know any decent techno off MP3.com ? And please no house, trance, etc. By techno I mean... uh.. if you've listened to the Rhythym Emotion remix off Gundam Wing thats what I like. Also if youve heard MDFMK - Missing Time... uhh yea.. can anyone tell me if MDFMK and KMFDM are one in the same?
*Edit*
And notice nowhere in this did I ever ask of your opinion of techno, so don't post unless you're actually going to contribute.

ok excluding trance and house look into
Hardcore, HappyHardcore, Goa, Goa trance (yes its not trance), Psy-trance, Dance, Euro Dance, Nu NRG, trip hop, acid trance, mushroom trance, gabba house, hard house, vocal trance, Jungle* (warning a lot of bad jungle, but good jungle is fantastic), if you want to get into sub categories
Hardcore: Terror Core, Speed Core
Gabba House: Hard Gabba, Happy Gabba, Break Gabba
Goa: Progressive Goa, Dark Goa, New skool/old skool go
Trance: Progressive, Ambient, Dark, Symbolic, Enternal, Classical.
Misc: Turntabalism, Breaks, live-mix
There you go, explore, listen, learn.
In short, yes.
In long, go search for it, i can't be bothered to type the whole story. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
really fast isnt it? like 300bpm or somthing daft like that?
personally im well into jungle at the moment, although music is better appreciated when not pigeon-holed into whatever genre, i mean where are the boundries drawn between genres anyways?
And all we can do is tell you artists we like, because the whole thing to techno is it isn't comercial so you have to "listen to hundreds of mp3's" to figure out what you like.
A good site to get free tracks, full mixes and music videos is over at

You DuBERS, Paranoia 2MB, and I my friend. ~_^
For Genre, anything but Jungle, there's barely any good Jungle... actually, I only know one good song... "Diesel Boy - Octane."
I'm more of a Happy Hardcore, Trance, and Vocal Trance man myself. Want a List of Artists I listen to?
Anyway, here are my recommendations for some good techno:
-Daft Punk
-Oakenfold
-Team Sleep
-Rob Dougan
-Fluke
-Don Davis
-Juno Reactor
-Gocoo
-Dirty Vegas
One last thing I'd like to comment on: Searching thru all the many many mp3's looking for some music makes the experience so much better. I eventually find exactly what I'm looking for, and I find a bunch of really cool, obscure songs that nobody I know has ever heard of. Then I get to tell them about it. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->
Yes well two songs is all I've found that really fit what I like. And I've probably downloaded about 200 techno MP3's.

Random examples of good jungle/drum n bass (could go into further detail, jazzstep/rolling/etc but I'm lazy) :
Reprazent - Post Modern Sleaze
Aphrodite - Ganja Man (Featuring Deadly Hunta)
)EIB( - The Nine
AK1200 & Danny Breaks - Deep Porn
Stakka And Skynet - Altitude
General Levy & M. Beat - Incredible
and btw, jungle isn't techno, it's jungle. trance isn't techno, it's trance. house isn't techno, it's house. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Kthxbai.
chill out man.
omgWTHroflmaopimp!
i dont understand how people can enjoy the thud thud thud of techno beats when you compare it to the breaks of jungle/ DnB (moreso jungle).
(well i think i know one way ;D, but talking about listening to music while sober)
I'm not totally into trance (more hardcore, and jungle is simply amazing)... but I do have some files, my sister's into it. Hmm... here's a few names.
Apoptygma Berserk
Cygnus X
Deepsky (oooo, deepsky is actually amazing)
Northcore
Paul Oakenfeld
System F
DJ Tiesto
that's as good as I can tell you, just don't listen to that sandstorm crap (aaarghh)
As for you guys who are into jungle as well, pick up these two CDs or your life is a soulless void.
<b>Vishnu 1.0, by DJ Purrin' Lion </b>(I got it for free at a rave <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
<b>23 degrees from vertical, by DJ Trace.</b>
^^^ WOW
For happy hardcore, pick up these CDs (absolutely amazing)
<b>Powerbomb, by DJ Muppetf**ker </b>(aka DJ Noahphex)
<b>Hardcore Cheddar </b>(any of them really)

Whereas myself i prefer both, hardcore all the way XD.
Give me some Ultraviolence or Atari Teenage Riot and i'm happy.
quite a difference there. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well, DnB isn't really that varied either, or maybe all the DJs I've seen spinning it only play one record on loop (this is entirely possible). If you want something that's really varied and broken, I suggest Xanopticon, Typhoid or Venetian Snares.
..waait a minute... is this what "breakcore" sounds like?
