My Comment On The Map Changes

somehow i don't just miss nancy but i miss many of the other maps too. now the changes may look better and they may make the game play better but the changes are so drastic that the maps are unrecognizable and have essentially become other maps. if you are going to put that much effort into changing the maps then you might as well give them a new name, and basically pretend they are new maps. i get emotionally attached to maps and i don't like them to be changed so drastically even if the changes are better, and i'm sure there are many other people that feel the same way.

besides that, there are many examples where the maps were plainly worsened by removing a lot of the special effects, and also the electric effects in eclipse don't look so good anymore.

    well just use your imagination.

    seriously, maps are just... polygons. try not to get emotionally attached. and if the map requires changes for balance, then so be it.

    who cares about a name?... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I felt the same way when 2.0 first came out, but the more u play them the more u will like them.

    Emotionally attached? If you get emotionally attached to maps, maybe you need a puppy. Yes, a puppy would do well.

    I can't say I'm emotionally attached, but I understand where you're coming from. Losing Nancy took a chunk out of my NS enjoyment. Subtle map changes I don't mind, but caged really took a hit.

    I'm still getting lost on the maps that were changed, and I've played 2.0 anywhere between 2-6 hours (depending on the day), every day since release. I always expect stability monitoring to be right outside generator hive, not down-the-hall-and-to-the-left. I'm glad for the macro-map, because I have to use it alot it seems.
