A Comm Strategy

<div class="IPBDescription">one that I thought about.....</div> I'm not sure if this is a good strategy, but here it goes:
Right at the start, build an IP, and then tell EVERYONE to go to a hive location. Luckily, there won't be a hive there so early in the game. Then, drop another IP, a CC and an aromory at the hive location. Recycle the one at the base (not sure if that is still available at 2.0, since I only downlaoaded it like, 3 days ago). Now you have a new base! And you lockdowned a hive! From now on, I like to build a few turrets at strategic locations and get some RTs. The rest, like HMG/HA rush, and so on, I decide depending on the scenario of the game.
What does everyone think about this? I'm not sure if there was a post like this before. If there was, sorry about that.

And it can work, so don't be afraid to use it. Just you need your marines to listen ;-)
Oh well, didn't know that. I mean, I never played as a commander before. Always was a marine or a gorge. Never had the guts to play as a comm, until like, yesterday.
By any means, it can work really well on maps where rts are close to hives, but I wouldn't do it on a map where the rt is in an inconvient place in your hive or there aren't many close rts.
BTW you can still listen for hives (they make a sloshing noise) doing that before increases success by alot.
I've had trouble listening for hives myself, I usually can hear folks running around IN the hive alot easier than the hive itself. I play with the volume pretty low though, since I played after midnight usually.
