1st Attempt At Modelling

Erm doing a model can some people give me some hints and stuff. I'm halfway through, using milkshape. I'm only using box, cylinder, scale and move to create this. are there any other special tools to make some simply awesome models that i've seen some people do. Anyway, here it is - The XM8.

Bahh, cut the guy some slack, he's new! Not bad for a first attempt mate, the "Extrude" and "Face" tools are probably the most used ones (other than select). Face tool especially, it may seem confusing at first, but once you can use it, it makes alot of jobs 50 billion times easier. There is also a webpage by Maus, with links to a ton of tutorials posted on the DoD Forums, you can find it here.

if u know how to handle extruding u hardly need to creat faces manually

True, but sometimes i find for more complex extrusions, it's handy to extrude and scale multiple times, then delete the faces, and unneeded vertices, and reface it.

It's always nice to see a new modeller about, don't worry about asking for help and whatnot either (although, please do search first, it'll gain you a bit more respect).
