Stupid Power Grid Overload!

I got power back at my house this morning, but still many parts of ontario and Toronto in particular, still don't have power!
What good is the power grid, when 1 section can cause most of the Northeast US and South Ontario to black out.

*What really happened*

God hired a new intern and told him, "Whatever you do, don't touch these switches!".....

Lucky for me, i was stuck in the subway in downtown manhattan for only 2 hours..in the heat..and the dark, and I had to walk to the nearest staion on the tracks. Then, I had to walk for about an hour or so until i got to my powerless home. I guess other ppl had worse experiences.
