Changing Boot Image?

Does anyone know how to change the logo that appears when you boot a computer up, and what size that picture has to be if I were to change it?

Actually that wasn't the one I was referring to. I mean the logo such as the one that Dell will put on your computer.

As in, the picture that shows after BIOS?
You probably can't unless you flash the CMOS, which is highly dangerous to your system.

You mean the windows loading screen?

I don't mean the "Windows 2000 loading" I mean the one before that.

no he means the thing that blocks out your POST (power on self test), and its an option in BIOS i think its called LOGO on dell systems. But you can always e-mail the "friendly" tech support and say "dude im sick of your logo"

I know how to disable it, I want to know how to change it.
    *Edit*

And I'd like to know if theres a way to do it on a non dell system, i.e. custom build.

ohh hehehe I never knew anyone who cared about that one, I usually disable them. try a search for "changing dell logo during POST"

edit: I just did a quick search and nothing of relavance came up, some people on a forum were talking about a proprietary program availible from DELL that allows you to change it, but i cant vouch for the info, try to e-mail them and ask

No Otto, there is no easy way for you to change the contents of your BIOS POST screens that unless you feel like learning assembly.
