Guitar?

Like guitar? What do you play? =}
Just curious...

I've been playing for about 4 years now.

I like playing classic stuff like Jim Croce or Eagles. Hotel California is what got me into playing guitar. I was brought up with the classics and now I'm stuck to them, but not completely. I also like playing John Mayer stuff. I'm currently practicing the song "Neon" by him. Was pretty hard at first, but I got most of it down, even the hand slaps (talking about the acoustic version here). What I can't get is the solo that he plays on the Carson Daly show (Last Call) because...I don't know what it is!. Anybody know it? =}

    Well, I am actually a bassist but I play guitar for my band. I like all sorts of tunes but I mostly play metal and hardcore on the guit-fiddle. Good times.

    I played a fair amount in high school, but lapsed quite a bit in college due to general lack of time. Hoping to pick it up again once I graduate in three days.

    The Beatles are what got me into music, but I've tried my hand at almost everything - Irish folk, punk, classical, pop...

    Mostly Tool and Motorpsycho. Got some really fancy guitarwork in that music -- it's quite challenging and very fun to play.

    And some days I just feel like jamming along with Godspeed You Black Emperor!. Guitar meditation, so to speak.

    I'm not really in to guitar, but I REALLY want to learn how to play the drums. I like hitting things and making noise.

    I've "played" guitar for some years now, never seriously and, well, i'm crap at it. But i don't really care.

    I mostly do little riffs, sample them and play with them electronically. What i play normally is some fast punk (none of this powerchording Green Day crap), black metal, some old industrial (like Throbbing Gristle) and mainly any other guitar work that requires little talent.

    That one is a classic. After this, I sing along with guitar solos ... "meedly-meedly-meedly-MEEEEEE".

    I "play" the drums, but I havn't been practicing much lately because my basement keeps flooding so we've had to move my set outa there (at least I can still play bass in the marching band WOOOO). Well mostly I try to play speed punk or Aquabats style ska (I'm not nearly as good as the Baron though), and if you can play that stuff RIGHT you can play just about anything drum-wise.

    I've been "playing" guitar for over a decade, but I'm well out of practice last few years.

    Still got my battered mid 80's Ibanez Roadstar 2 sitting in the corner. I'm not really into it these days, but I still automatically stop and go "Oooooh pretty..." when I walk past a guitar shop..

    Absolutely not.

    It has sentimental value.

    However I suspect you could pick up that exact model for about 50-100 bucks on Ebay these days, although finding one with humbuckers rather than single coils might be tricky.

    There's 5 guitars in my house. 2 belong to my bro. 2 belong to me. 1 for my dad. Yep...a family of guitar players. It's pretty stunning when all 3 of us play Hotel California together.

    People find it stunning when I get drunk and sing Hotel California horribly off-key.

    "Weeeelcome to the hotel Caaaliforniaaa, such a lovely place, such a lovely face...."

    I used to play classical guitar (no pick all fingers) and I could play most of Pistolero on it and the James bond theme, and that was the extent of my musical talent.

    I took a classical guitar class in my sophomore year of high school and have been playing acoustic ever since. Too lazy to get an electric.

    I've played for a while. I like old-school stuff the best. Stuff like Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, etc. I have one acoustic and two electrics. One is a Les Paul classic, and I love that guitar with a passion.

    I just bought a nice Ibanez starter bass... I've been meaning to pick up the bass for a while now... I wanna mastur teh l3e7 Soul Coughing and other bass-heavy stuph. Someone teach me! ...or direct me to some good online tutorials =P instruments are so overwhelming to me for some reason. it's funny how I don't mind risking life and limb to get good at skiing, but I'm TERRIFIED to sound stupid playing an instrument...

    I've learned how to play many a year ago, but haven't really played much in the past few years. I still haul the ol' guitar out every once in a while, but the strings always need to be replaced, and the callouses are always healed before I play next.

    I've been playing for around 3 years. I play mostly purely metal stuff, likc Megadeth, Metllica, Slayer. I'm really into european metal (Children of Bodom, Skyfire, Callenish Circle, In Flames etc etc) but most of that is out of my range unless I don't want to play leads (cept In Flames leads, which are fun and easy). Mostly just riffs in the vein of In Flames and Bodom. Alexi Laiho is a god btw. Little drop D stuff here and there.
