Right, i just saw this thing and im a bit confused. At the end, when they made the orange space ghosts go away, was like the entire human race wiped out?

Uh to clear things up on the ending, when they were killing the phantoms, they returned to their own "gaea", the big freaking red tentacle thing. When all the spirits were united the big freaking red tentacle was converted into the Earth's gaea, therefore it wasnt a threat anymore. And yes the satellite with the military people went bewm.

Its "gaia"(I have the book...got it a week before the movie, so I already knew what was gonna happen! I waited months for that movie)
