Consistency Checks During Tournamentmode?

i was in a clan scrimmage yesterday and a file from the caleague.com league called cal.cfg was executed and it turned on tournament mode while setting some other variables. when my friend tried to join after that was executed, it would not let him join because of an inconsistency in one of the fun .wav sounds like seedead or something. the same thing happened to me and another clanmate later that day when tournament mode was on.

i have never changed these files and neither have my friends, so i was wondering why this would happen and how it can be prevented?

any experience with this problem or help would be appreciated.
