First of all, nice work torment. I never knew what all that stuff did, but I dont know if I bother with it either, cause i m covered with the halflife controls menu anyway. Now there is something i dont get. You use uparrow downarrow left right to move? 1,2,3,4,5 for weapons? F for Flashlight? and so on? You dont seem to use any nice stuff the halflife controls menu offers (Comm menu shortcuts/Alien upgrades)? You got everything from Harware option to Net-Stuff but you dont have the most easiest? Of course in battle you only NEED 4 keys for movement and a mouse, but I find this spread-around-keyboard stuff not very optimized. I never really modified my NS config, since I liked the default, most of the keys I need are right around the WASD keys (which I use in almost all of my games), so it was familiar when I started playing NS. But, I do need some evolve scripts and stuff which I feel like making, just gotta find a list of impulses and I'll be set...
/me is off to do some research.... later when /me isn't feeling tired.
I understand what you're trying to do here g but it's reduntant in terms of the goals you seem to want to achieve. As mentioned above, anyone who's sceptical will simply assume that this config is bs, or that you have other configs in your /ns folder which you execute in game for lame **** like weapon autoswitch/fire or that jumpbitebitebite thingy that most self confessed "leet" skulks are all so fond of. If you want to seriously lay it to bed get to a lan or two and let everyone have a good look at the whole folder.
ex_maxerrordistance "12"? Shouldn't that be 64 by default?
rate "10150.04318"?!? How did you end up with that?
Always thought maxed gamma in NS was pretty poor also - that gammatweak app isn't in the folder for nothing. Get a shadow or two in your game ferchrissake. It's not Quake.
Which type of CPU do you have out of interest? We noticed optimisations in there for both AMD and Intel for some reason.
You can program aimbots for every game that uses kind of predictable projectiles. Hitscan or not does not matter. It's all about math. As long as its not random aimbots will always be possible.
@Melatonin
I assume you never read the half-life readme file? Well, I did not read it too unless I was looking for information on creating spray paints. There you will find some information about scripting (even a link to a website with all console commands) and other useful things. Scripts are intended to be used.

Inertia: Optimizations for intel and AMD? [I run an AMD btw] - not sure what you mean here.
I have no other configs with game settings or anything to hide.
I use one script which binds leap to mouse 4 [since using arrow keys means i cant use numbers to swap quickly] n.b. didn't meantion this again because it's in another thread here and on ukns.org, anyone who wants to take a look go <a href='http://www.uknsleague.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101&sid=57745aaf1845d11943049758ffaca203' target='_blank'>here</a> Also note its not a leap/bite script, i still have to bite
But I guess you're right, until you can proove on LAN you can play well and let ppl view your folder, there's always gonna be some who won't believe you
Oh and last thing about the gamma, I got a Sony Monitor like Immacolata and it's a **** with dark stuff, hence gamma settings.
I have configs that let me limit my weapon scrolling to the number of hives we have (which i set manually) and shows the name of the weapon I am gonna use soon as I select it. I also have a config for marine that lets me choose to restrict weapons to allow knife or not and use pistol script or not (aka welder). I'm gonna make map specific configs for commander that fills the keypad with binded alerts like need help here attack here build here. Actually with locations I can scroll to the area I need and just hit a build here bind pointing at the location in my chat. wish I could use voice comm <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
In my quest for the better and streamlined config (i.e. decreasing the brain to keyboard lag) I Have come up with many solutions. The first being to have mouse2 as forwards, Don't know why, but it works.
However recenty(ish), I have streamlined the weapons selection on the mouse wheel - instead of scrolling through all the weapons, instead it only selects 2 weapons - for skulk this is leap and bite, for marine LMG/whatever and pistol. With fastswitch on this is somewhat intereesting to use - the same effects can be done with the keyboard, but it allows me to reduce the ammount of thaught needed, and get my skills where they need to be - in the game, not the keyboard.
I also have a "multi-config-binder" - which rebinds the keys at the press of a single button, which makes all the usefull commands/binds available in the right places for marines/gorges/alien/commander. It's also togglable, I just have to press "f8" to cycle through the different configs until i get the one I want - the configs (at least for aliens) also have handy echos (console messages that appear on the screen not the console) So i know which key I have just pressed, and which config I have selected. Nothing major.
Despite having some pretty heavy scripts here, to my knowledge, I do not have anything that could be considered "foul play", as all I have done is maximize my reaction speed through simply, a better binding system. No "autoleap" scripts, no pistolhaxor, no mousewheel pistol firing - just better keybinding, with a few extra shiny bits to help myself and my team know what I am doing - eg the "h" key in alien config both makes the "heal me" sound, and says "HElp! heal meh!!" to the team, while as marine it requests a medpack with a similar message, as comm it selects the medpack.
I will be working on a public version of this multi-binder script soon, If anyone wants it.

No offense, but you don't understand scripting either if you think that those things are expoits which scripts are to blame for.
1: Switching off weapon graphics Is hardly a script. It's a single cvar. Besides, it's been (or is being) disabled. So it's no longer an advantage. I do agree that this is an exploit, but it's a bit of a moot point since it's no longer available.
2: Crouched bunnyhopping Is an exploit, but there's a difference between taking advantage of an exploit (bunnyhopping) and using a script to bunnyhop. You do not need a script to bunnyhop; I doubt you need one to silently bunnyhop. The fact that a script can be written to bunnyhop is besides the point - the script is not to blame for the exploit.
3: "Fastswitching" hud_fastswitch 1 is not even remotely a 133t-h4x0r config, known only to the great 133tm45t4hs. It's barely even a tweak. If you're referring instead to switching weapons rapidly to load up at an armoury... again, that's not a script. Please tell me you're referring to that, and don't honestly believe changing a standard cvar is h4x0ring? :/
4: "the heck knows" Exactly my point. Look, I've got nothing against people being ignorant about scripting. I've got something against people blaming scripting for all of gamings ills. I'm not saying you are, I'm just making a point. Scripting in and of itself is harmless. At best it moulds the user's setup to their hand, so to speak. That's all. Even if you had a config so 133t you could hook your brain directly up to the game, bypassing the keyboard, you'd still be bound by all the same rules of the game as everyone else.
cl_cmdbackup If im not mistaken this is how many times the client will send a rcon command to the server. If it fails the first time.
gl_overbright <-- Most would consider changing it cheating. gl_monolights <-- Chaning it IS consider at cheat. ( VAC blocks chaning it now )
Other that that, great work. Changed a few cvars lets see if i get better GFX in the game now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

n.b. didn't meantion this again because it's in another thread here and on ukns.org, anyone who wants to take a look go <a href='http://www.uknsleague.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101&sid=57745aaf1845d11943049758ffaca203' target='_blank'>here</a> Also note its not a leap/bite script, i still have to bite
But I guess you're right, until you can proove on LAN you can play well and let ppl view your folder, there's always gonna be some who won't believe you
Oh and last thing about the gamma, I got a Sony Monitor like Immacolata and it's a **** with dark stuff, hence gamma settings.
Depending on amd cpu you may see a slight performance increase by changing r_mmx to "0"
Would still love to know how you decided on that rate (10442.0343402342345458785768576897234 etc) <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
And my rate was completely random spam <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I remember in cs when my friend got his cable, there was an optimum rate setting for his cable which looked something like that, with random numbers, am just playing atm <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Scripting does not involve convoluted code, nor h4x0ring settings files using a hex editor. It involves opening up simple text files in notepad and entering in console commands. That's all. Are you seriously suggesting that Valve put this in for their own usage and didn't intend players to find out about it? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
As I said for myself, I dont need any scripting stuff.
Would be nice, if everyone just uses it to optimize some stuff.
But Melatonin gets a point here, if yoou consider many abuses.
There are people who switch off weapon/bite grafix while firing, crouched bunnyhopping, fastswitching, the heck knows... all with simple text scripts and that IS uneven against normal players :/
Its a game, not a scripting marathon <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
This is exactly my point. No offense, but you don't understand scripting either if you think that those things are expoits which scripts are to blame for.
1: Switching off weapon graphics
Is hardly a script. It's a single cvar. Besides, it's been (or is being) disabled. So it's no longer an advantage. I do agree that this is an exploit, but it's a bit of a moot point since it's no longer available.
2: Crouched bunnyhopping
Is an exploit, but there's a difference between taking advantage of an exploit (bunnyhopping) and using a script to bunnyhop. You do not need a script to bunnyhop; I doubt you need one to silently bunnyhop. The fact that a script can be written to bunnyhop is besides the point - the script is not to blame for the exploit.
3: "Fastswitching"
hud_fastswitch 1 is not even remotely a 133t-h4x0r config, known only to the great 133tm45t4hs. It's barely even a tweak. If you're referring instead to switching weapons rapidly to load up at an armoury... again, that's not a script. Please tell me you're referring to that, and don't honestly believe changing a standard cvar is h4x0ring? :/
4: "the heck knows"
Exactly my point.
