My New Website!

JammerJammer Join Date: 2002-06-03 Member: 728Members, Constellation
<div class="IPBDescription">Kinda</div> Well, after 2 days of hardcore photoshopping and htmling, I've got the template for my new website. :-)
<a href='http://mywpages.comcast.net/jammer211/template.html' target='_blank'>TADA!</a>

...
I should explain I've never photoshopped before, and my html is really rusty. REALLY rusty (I had to look up how to do tables.)

Its not complete yet, as this is a template hosted on my cable space... I just bought the actual hosting tonight, I'm waiting for it to get set up. Then comes the cgi, domain name reg (its clear... I checked).

Then the ohsoeasy task of content creation :-)
There WILL be forums, just not asap... it'll be a "coming soon" for most of the time.
I'll post here once its up.

And yes, the title is supposed to inflamatory and over the top.

I agree. It's not too over the top but everything is easy to pick.

And Jasp, he's using a double-negative to say that the site is "against those who are against the flag". Sorta catchy I guess. Maybe a little too....something.
But, it's Jammer's site and I'm glad to see he's applying some healthy elbow grease to spin the wheels of democracy <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Mullet have u even looked at his site before u say it sucks??? if u note its not finished and what hes got is only a template, As from what i have seen the design is crisp, sharp and looks awfully nice. Its simple yet effective

If u have ever tryed to make a website u would know its not an easy task thier is lots of coding ,FTP work, picture making and lots of other things to do. Also dont just say it sucks if u dont like it give him reasons why u dont like it so he can consider your improvements/downgrades and put them in if he likes.

    So this makes sense:
Anti-Flag is a extremely left wing political punk band.
The site is going to be my writing against what they say, do and beleive.
    Hence, Anti-Anti-Flag.com

And mullet- I used to love them too. I had a T-Shirt and went to their Underground Network tour :-)
I beleive in what they stand for: an end of racism, homophobia, sexism, ageism, mindless nationalism, etc. I beleive they try to enact those principals in entirely retroactive ways and have also become part of a socialist movement in the American punk scene.

Look at their website (anti-flag.com) and look at who they link to: International ANSWER, the Anti-War protest wing of the WORLD WORKER'S PARTY.

My site is going to be to defend the values and pricinpals of America and classical liberalism (today's conservatism) against a new, incredibly incorrect and misguided (but basically well meaning) group. :-)

Hell, I'm almost through my Computer Science degree and I can't really "code" HTML myself. I don't use it often enough to remember anything. Last year I did an entire Online Bookstore project in PHP and I always had this excellent site open for all my HTML needs: <a href='http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com' target='_blank'>http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com</a>
Best site ever. Why bother learning HTML when I can look it up really easily and he even gives recommendations out about which tags are good and what good replacements are for crappy tags. Sample code for all (or at least most) tags included.

Basically, I started reading and the facts swayed me (oooh shot at liberals!).
The intial schism happened at the concert: they said something along the lines "There is no left wing media! When Doctor Laura and Rush Limbaugh are the #1 and 2 radio shows in the country!"

I just thought "Wait a second- thers more to the media then just radio. And it is biased!" Things kinda happened down from there. From there I slowly read more and more books, starting with Bias, then moving on to more hardcore conservative writing, such as Dinesh D'Souza. Long story short, I've realized how totally and completely wrong Anti-Flag is in their approach to the world.

But the site will be more in depth.

I know it SAID, not SAYS, your website sucks....so whats your point? I'm not saying your website sucks jamer....at the time I was mad that someone would make a site against one of my all time favorite bands.

Me likes ! Me likes !

Love the name, but when I first saw it I didn't think of the band, I was thinking of:

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->My site is going to be to defend the values and pricinpals of America and classical liberalism (today's conservatism) against a new, incredibly incorrect and misguided (but basically well meaning) group. :-) <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So you might want to hit on that.
Once the forums are going I'll have to break out some political literature of mine.
May I suggest you reading "Slander; Liberal Lies About The American Right" by Ann Coulter ?
It gives a great background on the liberal media, and why many people in this generation are hopelessly biased against the Conservative party. The book's a good topic for discussion.

Well, the site has 2 parts kinda: the blog, for general poltics, and the anti-flag. Anti-Flag is going to be the main focus of the articles, the blog will focus current events. "Other Issues" is for random articles and such.

I'm working on content now. Whee. I'll be sure to post once its up and running.
The domain name is set... what about the title bar though?
I'll also make sure the about section explains it too.

I'm not really a fan of Ann Coulter. She strikes me as devisive and as a person who hates liberals personally, not just politically. I haven't read much of her. I prefer Dinesh D'Souza. :-)

However, there is undeniable truth in what she writes. The first thing people learn in politics, is that someone always has a side, and they're always trying to sell you something, if they're not, then they're lying. Ann Coulter is biased, and if you go into any literature without understanding that the author is biased to some degree, than you're in trouble.

But I would bet that you know that, but not everyone else does.
I'll have to check out D'Souza.

[edit]He's the author for What's So Great About America, I'll have to check out the book school after work[/edit]

    I have little pity for the Liberal Media too <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I understand about Ann's position.
I just thing she's a 'dollarsign, ampersand, exclamation point, asterisk, pound sign.' :-D

And Dinesh D'Souza, author of Whats so Great About America, is amazing. If you're new to conservatism, get "Letters to a Young Conservative" too. That really halped me.

I refer to that book as "The Bible" :-)

yes, halped. Like the shake and bake.
