Are you sure it's .jpg? Or did you just add the .jpg extension on the end of the file name?
/me hits his head on keyboard in dismay
why...why...why...why...why...
ah, if life were only that easy.....
can't do it that way d00d. You gotta use a program like photoshop or irfanview. Irfanview is a free utility to mess with image files. You gotta open your image, then choose file > save as. In the save dialog box there will be a pull down menu to select what type of file you want t save it as. The rest is up to you.
<a href='http://www.irfanview.com' target='_blank'>http://www.irfanview.com</a>
Open the folder the image is in, click tools->folder options -> view and uncheck "Hide extensions of known file types"
You will now be able to properly edit the extension manually.
Photoshop > Gimp.
though cost/benefit anaylsis Gimp > Photoshop.
I bet your one of those people who think AMD > Intel for performance AND price.
blah. rar must resist flaming.

that's what you're not supposed to do. It doesn't do anything, and can even mess up whatever programs you use to open your pictures (ie if you open HTML in notepad or something)
