<div class="IPBDescription">Changing Default File Associations-Win98</div> how do you change the default file associations for Windows 98.

I'm asking for my laptop, my regular computer has upgraded.

I do some sprite development on my laptop, and it default opens sprites with a text editor. It won't let me change. How do I tell it to change that to a sprite viewer program. I never could figure it out for Win98.

    Explorer -> view -> folder options -> file types tab.

    -or-

    for win9x
    Select the file you want to re-associate
    Hold shift and right click on the file
    choose "open with"
    Now you have the box that you see when windows doesn't know what the file is associated with, pick the one you want to use from the list or browse for it.

    for win2k
    simply right click on the file and choose open with

    I assume its the same for XP, I don't use/like xp so i can't tell you for sure. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
