<div class="IPBDescription">Small problem</div>i was looking at a pic of an alien n its 1 of those bit people type.my question : how do we know if we can bite someone and hurt him?we have to actually have a part of his body in our mouth?

    How do you know you can hit someone with the crowbar in HLDM?  You just get close, and smack 'em.  

    I hear Bob has a leap ability that helps get closer to deliver that toothy grin, though.

    If you can't figure out how to run up close to another player and press your fire button, you might want to stick with Tetris.

    Pr0phecy- you're overthinking the way the bite attack - and even the crowbar attack - works.  It's a simple matter of a VERY short range weapon.

    You press the attack button, it checks to see if you're in range (ie, point blank for crowbars and teeth), and it assigns damage.  Simple as that.

    You don't actually have to get your teeth around an arm or a leg. :D

    Heres a simple anology, a cat can bite yer butt, it's generally pretty flat..... (right? <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->) and it hurts like hell (speaking from experience, but his claws slashing down my back when he was trying to stay on hurt more...). So if you give aliens sharper teeth, and bigger mouths, they will be able to grabs chunks in the marines armour and rip it off.....

    MonsieurEvil is obviosly under much pressure and this unfortantly is turning into snappishness, but i don't blame him. Every time I go into the ideas forum and i see 2-3 new topics started by names i don't recognize with titles that sound a lot like things that have already been discussed I often need to take a breath or two before diving in. Poor guy's probably close to having a nervous breakdown.

    Ahh, well, I'd rather not link to the reason why he was threatened with suspension.  He broke a cardinal posting rule. Hopefully he just won't repeat the conduct that led to the warning.

    As for me being snappy - true. But I'm a short-tempered SOB and was long before the mod kicked into pre-release overdrive. Just me being me. The 'friendly PR' guy is actually pretty much an act, as I'm neither in real life.

    's true. I've had some threads I made or helped push of topic locked, but I can't remember I time they've had to modify my posts. (But there was that time SpyderMonkey changed my post when i quoted a post the had said, "Don't quote me on that." But that time I was just asking for it) Just don't try to post anything obviosly unsuitable, don't try to link to anything obviosly unsuitable, and you'll be fine. The Mods here are very decent ppl.
