I don't know what NS 2 is going to be like but from what i read on this site it sounds like the alleis are getting lots of cool upgrade and your making easyer for them and you making it harder for the Marines making the game even more one side then it is, now i love NS so please be careful what you do to it

2.0 has been in development a long time, and it will fix a wide assortment of bugs and will also bring kewl new gameplay in, and even though NS is a sweet game, it's still Flayra's game, and he can do with it what he pleases.

welcome to the NS community, the three of you

and if you look at the sticked thread called "a request to the NS community"...

[edit]
and it doesn't matter that you don't know where to post, someone is bound to help you out, and you can always ask a mod or admin questions, they are really helpfull (speaking from experience)

yup, I realized that.

I think it's fair to say that all of us love this game, and after numerous months of testing I would be willing to bet my rabbit (THAT MEANS ALOT TO ME) that 2.0 will be a huge improvement

There is a hell of alot of changes to NS 2.0...And I too worry if it doesn't feel like NS once did...You know what I mean? Like DoD and DoD Retail, they felt like different games.

But, on a side note, I really *admire* how much effort they have put into 2.0...I've been reading about the progress of 2.0 for as long as it started, and there has been sooooo many ideas thrown at NS, I'm surprised they managed to complete all this in the 5month period or so it took too develop.
But, at the end of the day, it's balance that makes a game wonderful, and more balanced NS is, the better it shall be!
27days seems such a long time...

NS version 2 is being extensively playtested to make sure it's well balanced, so I don't think you need to worry about that.

You're the person who came in IRC and continued to curse and tell me to SUYF while I wasn't doing anything but helping, along with another person.
It will come out, why do you think they didn't make a release date before? I promise you that if Flayra makes a release date, he will make it in time.
We finally have a release date. There was never one before, like 'In a couple of weeks, ages ago', as you said in the channel. Now that there finally is one, I know that they will make it. I can't keep stressing the reason why there actually is a release date now, and there wasn't one before. Because they know they can make the release date!

I have complete confidence in Flayra... he wouldn't make the mod bad deliberately and all that playtesting surely shows that the top priority is balance.
The fact that we have got a releasdate will make the waiting much harder. One thing i hope is that its not going to be like CS 1.6 or dukenukem 4 ever wihc will probably never be released

Maverick102 is doing some nice "smart bomb style" here.
How come that the starter of stupid wishes always:
- write "aliens" wrong.
- rarely hit "," or "."
- make the worst sentense structures ever.

i just think maybe there will be bugs that the testers won't find but players will exploit

P.S. I started playing NS after Nuke was taken out, so for did Nuke work?

...
Yeah. Thats why games have bugs. Because testers miss them. And thats why games have patches. To fix newly uncovered bugs.

People that wish not to play version 2 dont need to.
They could make their own v1.05 servers and play on them.

Shush all of you.

It's none of anyones concern to be critical of grammar or any other language skills. If you guys can't say anything other than something about his grammar, don't respond at all.

Seriously guys, we're coming down to the 2.0 release, and trust me, lots and lots of new players and forum members. This means english errors galore, so play nice, and we don't want any new people to get burnt, so bear with it for a little while.

You're not alone. The vast majority of people never played NS when the nuke was in -- because it was never in a publicly-released version. Taking it out was decided in pre-1.0 playtesting for various reasons.

As for your fears about balance, exploits, whether it will be tested extensively, and so on, I'd like to direct you to our Beta Information section. It's your ticket to first-hand info and opinions on each and every build that we test before the release. Only the people who play the test builds can post there, so you don't have to worry about the accurary of the info; you won't find the ramblings of just any random forum user.

To the rest of you who posted here: I strongly suggest that some of you (you know who you are) read Sirus' post again and keep it in mind for the next few months. New, enthusiastic players who want to learn about the game and have fun with it are a Good Thing™. With that, I'll quietly *lock* this thread.
