<div class="IPBDescription">Can't upload picture files . . .</div> Everytime I try to upload picture files to a forum post, or even for my avatar, It tells me that that type of file is not allowed.

EVEN for the avatar it said:

Supported file types or .gif .jpeg .jpg

NONE of these work and I was going to post a screenshot earlier but it didn't work. I had even converted it to a .jpg to decrease files size and make it compatable . . .

you have an avatar and a sig.

If you are talking about having NS.org host your avatar, that aint done (just use one of many free ones <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

as for attaching files, what have you been trying to attach?

Like I said JPEG, GIF, JPG anything that will work. All are supposed to be supported, right?

Or do I have to host my own darn screen shots like I did that wonderful avatar and sig?

for avatars and sigs you do have to get your own hosting.

I can't upload a *.zip file either. I can't upload anything.

the name of the picture was:

ns_nancy0001.GIF

the zip was:

picture.zip

My firewall wouldn't cause this kind of error, cause the error I get is from the forums:

I found one discrepency:

ns_nancy0001.<span style='color:red'>GIF</span>

and

post-18-1057178751.<span style='color:red'>gif</span>

could that be something?

The last post was from my laptop. The file upload worked there. Let my try it from this computer.

I have now tried to upload a seige_005 zip file from my regular computer and that did not work . . . same error.

I'm gonna try it from my laptop.

I have saved these files from Thansal and even renamed them. They still upload. Everything else won't. This piece of crap . . .</span>

Thansal, this is the picture I am trying to upload. I just uploaded it to my personal server, so download it and post it for me here. If it works for you and not for me i'm going to be **** . . .

there is the problem, it was giving you the wrong error, both of them are to large, not the wrong type.

297,689 bytes and 2,359,350 bytes
the max is 1228800

sorry mate, thayts the issue.

Honestly I would suggest to simply use your host for imgs (simply use img tags and it looks better and you can have multiple imgs per post).
