My cousins have counter-strike but not Half-Life and i want to get NS on their comp, and i was wondering if there is a way to get NS with CS. Can someone help me?

Ok, preferable to using that work around (if you are able to) is to install straight into the Counter-Strike directory. So when it asks for the HL dir (c:\sierra\half-life\) point it to your CS dir (c:\sierra\counter-strike\). This has worked fine for me for many mods (ns, s&i, dod to name 3) the only thing you occassionally need to do is alter some of the created shortcuts so they point to cstrike.exe instead of hl.exe
It is funny to install NS mod on the game that the NS community hates so much

I wouldn't call it hate. I'd call it a preference for better games.
NS was designed to be compatible with CS, and 1.1 should be compatible with DOD Retail as well. You should have no problems installing directly to your CS directory (to my knowledge).
i had the SAME problem as you my good friend, its easy... install it into your Counter-Strike folder and your all set good luck
I'll stand forward and admit that I have CS retail. Why? Because it is FRIKKIN' IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AN ORIGINAL VERSION OF HL IN GERMANY NOW! Localize my ****. The CS retail version I found was english however, and I didn't want green blood, so that was my only choice. Otherwise it looked like people were vomiting all over the place. Bit of a shame I never completed hl singleplayer though. I thank MonsE for the installer, it worked flawlessly for me (and as I always delete desktop shortcuts and use the start menu, I never suffered from his little mistake either ).

Haven't played SS2 (need to, I know), but I did love DX. My only complaints were (1) lackluster final level and (2) starting a new game was PAINFUL because your skills were so low. Hence I have only played through once (though I did get all 3 endings), and haven't had time to go back and replay it. HLSP, though, I have probably beaten somewhere between 6 and 10 times.
God I loved HL single player - no other game or mod has come close for me, especially with all the hours I put into finishing it on hard difficulty (which is very difficult btw). Absolutely great game.

He means people in the US, its one of 3 things: fanaticism (CS FOR LIEF!!111 IM GONNA GIVE G00S3M4N ALL MY MONEY!!!11), stupidity (HL SUCKS! I WANT TEH CS INSTEAD!!!111), or ignorance (All my friends have been telling me about this game called Counter-Strike, I think I'll check it out... Gee, I wonder what this Half-Life game is like, ah, who cares...).
