I was wondering if someone here could make me a sig and possibly an avatar to go along with it to. I have seen most amazing work here and I would love to have a little piece of it
-Doesn't have to be fancy just a nice NS sig.

But I agree with coil, your current avatar works very well, everyone can recognise you. Maybe a signature though?
Oh yes, and no using this yet. Im going to try to create a radial transparent dither for the grey one. Wish me luck.

Which program? is it free?
Any tutorials you know of?
Legionnaired: I think Fam saind in anothar post that he uses Photoshop but I may be wrong.
Aww shucks, thanks.
Anyhow, I use Photoshop 5.5 and a lot of practice. A LOT of practice. It makes up for my lack of real artistic ability. ^_^
I have gimp, it's free, and has all the same features as photoshop, i think, soo..
Just the one thing: A sig is not just to say your name, and show off any pretty filters, but rather just to give an easily recognised picture that becomes synonimous (spelling?) with the person. As you can see, most of the sigs I do have a pretty undetailed background, and just the words stand out to quickly impact the viewer, but small enough so as not to affect the information on a page.
Hive green = the NS infestation overlays with a slight drop shadow (not effects, done manually, PS5.5 remember?).
Smoke = white paintbrush, smudged. That took about 10 seconds.
Version one (more clean and proffesional i think):
As for a sig tutorial, it just doesnt work that way guy. being able to do the nice stuff like fam and ramses (and me) do takes TONS of hands-on experience, and lots of experimentation. It'll take you at least 8 months before you can start making nice artistic stuff without using some kind of tutorial, or help from anything or anybody, and 8 months would be if you try really hard and spend alot of time at it.
There is no tutorial on "How to create cool stuff".
But there are tons of tutorials on little steps, like "how to create glowing text" or "how to create realistic pipes" or "How to use XXXfilter" and so on. Just read all tutorials you can find and work nonstop with the programm you want to learn and have a -bit- of artistic talent and it should work.
