A lot of people have said "I will give you x for Roob's new server", now when Roob says that I beleive him <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> when I say that I know I mean it 'cos it's me and when my mate down the road says it I know I can go and knock on his door for the cash. Thing is if everyone who said they'd give cash actually did it we'd have enough for two servers right now! Me and Roob are willing to put in up to HALF ourselves. So we only need ?50/month from donations and the server is saved for god's sake.
So PLEASE if you intend to help Roob's server survive you need to actually either pledge through paypal (when we get the server I hit 'accept' and it collects the pledged funds) or send me your donation in any form you happen to like. <a href='mailto:roobs@muppetking.com'>roobs@muppetking.com</a> is the mail address or equiries. Roob's server cannot be saved with 'I intended to' or 'I would like to'.
Did I forget to mention that the highest donators get a reserved slot? When the new server is in place we will work out how much is has been donated by who, those that have given the most will get a reserved slot. Reserved slots will be reviewed every couple of months. It's all explained on the website.

The money is nothing compared to the hours I use the server and the fun we have on it!
Roob's is the only server I play on, it cannot go down!
I think that if a couple of the diehard regulars chip in, 50 quid a month shouldn't be a problem.

But good luck raising funds, it seems a shame that the better servers are going bankrupt lately.
I have to concur with the stress levels. I tried to play last night but just gave up after a bit, because all I can think about is "can we keep this running". <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Anyway, there has been a big drive of late to keep the server almost constantly adminned (many of the (pre)current admins, myself included, have been way too busy with work lately). I'm really glad that all I'm hearing about the server is good, and concerned because I don't want to see that go.
Thank you to those who have already pledged. If you want to contribute, the details are all at the <a href='http://www.muppetking.com' target='_blank'>Muppetking</a> Website. We can accept pretty much every type of money transfer and assure you that 100% of donations will go to the server and in the event of the server not continuing, the money will be transferred directly back to the respective donors.
As eaglec has noted, there are many generous people who are offering us their money, all you guys need to do is donate it via paypal (preferably) or other method (if paypal isn't an option for you) and we can proceed.

a) My bank has somehow not sent me the new stuff for the account (card, chequebook, pin number), and so I don't have access to 99% of my money anyway.
b) The only job I can find is a crappy minimum wage one(£3.60 w/o NI deductions), and I'll be spending the first week paying off my uniform, and that's after I undergo crappy training.
c) I only get a credit card thingy after every few months, so if I open a PayPal account, I'll have to wait three months to use it!
I do enjoy playing on Roob's, and think it's worth donating to it.
It's a shame it has come to this, that's the main problem with the UK - internet is absolutely appalling <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Good Luck, I would donate if I 1. had the money and 2. ever got to play on roobs, its always so full, please allow more players on it.
Alas currently it's not powerful enough to have more than 16 players on. When we get the new server however, it will be powerful enough (especially in 1.1 with the CPU load reduced) to have any number of players. I'm expecting to have a 20 (maybe higher) limit on it.

Basically we need donations or monthly subscriptions equal to £1200 a year or £100/month.*
How close are we? All we need is an additional £20/month in subscriptions or £250 in the first year, and I can think of two individuals that promised to subscribe for £20/month each and as yet neither has subscribed for anything. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
It would be tragic if Roob's server died through apathy.

We now have enough to just scrape by. I mean that btw - we have a projected ?1260 for the first year and it will cost ?1200. Not much of a safety net especially as I'm going to have to put the initial bulk payment in out of my own pocket to get the special rate!
