Not many of the people I showed this to before thought it was any good, prolly because it was ugly, but it's semifuturistic and A marine might look good carrying one of these:

Fun ASC actions
Then there's a load of flufftext:
Ammunition is conveniently stored in colour coded cases. All cases are identical in size and fit the standard gun chassis. The sights are fixed to the ammo cases and are calibrated for the ammunition they contain. The ammunition is stored in a high capacity helical magazine. The barrel is built into the ammo case. All expended shells are ejected 3 feet up at a backwards angle of roughly 20 degrees, eliminating the danger of being burned by rogue brass.
The ASC is currently chambered in 10x25mm and 5.7x30mm, both of which fire from the same standard gun chassis but with different ammo cases.
And, uhh, that's it

Comments
1: As far as I can tell, it uses gravity to feed ammo to the chamber. Now, in zero-g or inverted (holding it upside-down) environments, that would be bad.
2: The weapons actual barrel is short. This could result in inaccuracy, as barrel length bolsters projectile accurracy.
3: It makes alot more sense with side-arms to put the magazine in the handle. It saves space and makes it more useable, as the weight of the ammo is in your hand, and not at the end of the barrel, making it end-heavy.
Other than that, it's a neat concept.

sgt X what do you mean?
Ummm, no.In the pic of him firing, he's pulling the trigger. He isn't moving any of his fingers. The slide does on this pistol what it does on most others: it slides back, ejecting the bullet shell. Now if he had to move his fingers on this gun, he would on most others, meaning even having a pistol would not be practical, as the large danger to yourself. So, eh, what did you mean exactly?
