Help |:
Im running a server @ 139.81.183.83:27015

HLSW shows the server maybe twice, then times out for about 6 updates then returns again. Anyone know what this problem is ? |: The most obvious thing is the box or a box is routes through is blocking the packets but im told this isnt the case.

Any ideas ;`|

Are you using the latest version of HLDS? If so the new HLDS places a limit on the number of queries allowed by a utility like HLSW. You can try the new beta version of HLSW out.

Yeah i think i am, got the latest version from BY's FTP 30 mins ago at least..

Surely more people are using this version tho? and i have never seen a server respond in this way |:

Due to possible DoS attacks on servers, the latest version of HLDS is set up to only allow so many queries to the server per second. Your server most likely has the latest version installed.
If you go to HLSW's website, they have a more detailed description on how it works. They say to change max_queries_sec and max_queries_sec_global to higher rates than default because HLSW requires more queries to maintin information and an rcon connection. I tried doing it on my own server, but I had some issues with it and I found it was just easier for me to downgrade.
I haven't really looked, but I'm imagining the server/server ops board has more information too.

sounds like the server is sleeping to much

try adding "-pingboost 1" to the command path and see if that helps

    :o didnt notice his edit
