<div class="IPBDescription">I think they'll be quiet full</div>When NS v.1 is released, i betcha gonna have to wait at least 2 hours before you'll be albe to download!

Unless you guys have many servers and mirrors
(i know nothing about links mirrors or servers,
i don't know how to make a web site either, so i may mix mirrors and servers up a bit...)

Well, if it is a big release, which i hope, you most likely right however, i don't think it will be too bad, maybe fileplanet, but god knows fileplanet is the devil.

FileToilet is not my first choice when it comes to downloads.... unfortunately it is sometimes the only choice.

Orphus lets me have unlimited space. I can give a mirror. But they might get mad at me unless I give a reason for that realating to my site:

Unlimited Space - This of course is within reason. No hosting of 700MB Divx movies. No file serving off your sites, I will get to that later on... This space is used to store your site and anything that relates to your sites only.

Unlimited Bandwidth - We will not restrict your bandwidth at all. All we ask in return is that you place a 468 x 60 banner add on every page of your site. If you fail to do so, we have ways to ensure it stays there.

E-mail Accounts - This of course is a shinny new @orphus.com e-mail account that is yours and your site staff upon request. It is POP3 and has unlimited transfer and mailbox size.

Well sorry about making a new post here. Anyways that site that I linked <i>is</i> hosted on Orphus. I just used my old web-site(that was hosted on <i>Geocities</i>) as a place holder until I get my resources together.

JediYoshi, that TOS agreement says you can't use it as a file server... therefore if you set yourself up as a mirror, you're gonna get in lots of trouble.

I've got an idea, lets all gather in the NS channel and have then DCC it to us <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>. It could work if people started sending them to each other but it's moronic and has no result.
<b>Here's a real idea</b> I bet many people would want to play NS right when it's finished, not before it arrives on fileplanet or any other mirrors. So you find some of them who are willing to put it up on their servers and use them as ftp mirrors, and wire it after the release

I don't know what the plan is, but it wouldn't be smart to ignore FilePlanet. There will be other mirrors. I have no doubt about that. But NS will likely also go onto FilePlanet. If you don't like FP, download it somewhere else, you hyper-active, 'gimme-gimme' little kiddies.

make filetiolet the only one u have to log onto in... i hate all sites where o have to log in but FP has good downloads and nothing crappy (in the files not the game)

It's not a wise decision to ignore fileplanet when releasing a mod. There are only so many weird german sites that you can try to download from before you just start begging for something as familiar as FP. Sure, the wait times are annoying (for those of you without a personal server), but that helps control the bandwidth for the rest of us to leech from. I'd rather have wait times then have 2,500 people all downloading at 2.4kbps. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
