Dave's N64 Schvit List, Or I Need Cash But Don't..

..want to sell something and regret it
So here's the story, Today, for whatever reason, I decided I just can't live with my GBA, when the GBA SP is just so much damn better. I don't know, maybe it's the lighting solution, or the slick form, or thevarious awesome skins I can get, but I want it. In that regard, damn you Nintendo, and your portable monopoly trickery! Instead of making an inferior handheld then releasing an entirely-too-bad@ss new version that improves on all its flaws, just skip ahead and release the bad@ss system next time! Please!

But that's not the issue.

You see, the Gamestop nearby will only pay my 30$ for my old GBA, and the SP costs around 100$. Then I found out that they'll pay anywhere from 1-15$ on N64 games, depending on the quality of title and the condition of the case. SO I burrowed through my expansive N64 game collection, and then I realized how sucky a lot of my games were. Really, why did I even buy them? A pile of a dozen or so games lies in the corner of my room as I type, awaiting to be taken to be pawned later this week.

But you see, I'm a video game connoisseur of sorts, and I really don't want to sell something and find myself regretting later. Some of these games may become rare collectable items down the road (unlikely, but maybe). And others I just want to hang onto because they're cool (can you say Goldeneye 007?). So I'm gonna list the games I've decided to sell, and the games I've decided to keep. I want you guys to give me a second opinion, and tell me whether or not I should keep some games I've decided to sell, or sell some games I've decided to keep. Don't fail me!

The Keepers

-Mario 64
-Mariokart 64
-Donkey Kong 64
-Pilotwings 64
-Blast Corps
-Wave Race 64
-Yoshi's Story
-Bomberman 64 (I'm a fan)
-Bomberman 64: The Second Attack (once again, fan of the series)
-Beetle Adventure Racing (a weird game, but I want to keep it cause the track design was so friggin cool. Seriously, if I ever go into the gaming business and develop a quirky racing game, I want to be able to look back on these track designs)
-Goldeneye 007
-Super Smash Bros
-Star Fox 64
-Pokemon Stadium (yeah I know, eh, I haven't touched anything Pokemon in ages, but I have a feeling they'll become collectable in later years)
-Jet Force Gemini
-Paper Mario
-Diddy Kong Racing
-Ogre Battle 64
-Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
-Banjo-Kazooie
-Mario Tennis
-Mario Party 2
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The Pawn-ers

-Wayne Gretzky's 3d Hockey
-Cruis'n USA
-Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
-International Superstar Soccer 64
-NFL Blitz 2000
-NFL Quarterback Club '98
-Gauntlet Legends
-007: The World is Not Enough
-Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr.
-Mission Impossible
-Nagano Winter Olympics '98
-Battlezone 64

Resting on the Fence

-Mario Party...since I have number two, which is the better game, I'm not sure what to do with this one. It may have collectable value in some distant future, maybe, but I'm never ever gonna play it (and neither will my sister, who prefers number 2). What should I do with this one?
-Tony Hawk Pro Skater...since I have 3 on the GCN, and will probably get number 5, I never ever will play this one again. But there's the chance, the ever-hopeful chance, that it might come collectable (assuming ANY video games ever do).

The last two are probably the most likely to get me the biggest cash return, but if people ever start collecting vintage video games, they could become very valuable. But, I'm probably kidding myself in thinking that anyone will ever collect video games. But what do you guys think?

i think perhaps you should buy a book and read it.

    or go outside and play.

LOL, I'm not that much of a nerd. I spend plenty of time reading books, and going outside the house.

I was a pretty big N64 nerd though, hence the huge collection. But all I have now is a GCN and 6 games, and a GBA and 6 games. I haven't bought a new game for either in 3 months.

Yeah, I rented that game, and found it a bit pointless as a sidescroller on the N64. Plus, those little Yoshis got on my nerves with their singing, and hopping..

Sell it? But it was such a fun game, and the sequel was even better. Far better adventure/collecting games than Donkey Kong 64, which got quite repetetive toward the end, even if there were some cool parts (like with the mine carts).

I highly doubt any of those video games will ever become "collectables" within a reasonable span of time. If nobody's ever going to play Mario Party or Tony Hawk, by all means sell them.

If you can try and pick up Body Harvest (If you can find it)

It has to be one of the most innotive third person shooters ever. Sure it may look like crap but theres something about engaging aliens in a Sopwith Camel or Harrier.

(It was made by the same guys who did GTA)

Hah, I've going to at least keep a few if only for the nonstalgia. Mainly:

    Mario 64
    Goldeneye 64
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The others will all probably get sold at SOME point in time.

BTW, a mint copy of Chrono Trigger sells upwards of 70$ on Ebay.

But the above three titles are the only ones that really even stand a chance of achieving that sort of collectability, sooooo...
