Look who ever thinks if you leave ns you will get 1.1 well wrong again. The only way you will get 1.1 is play till 1.1 is out i don't know about you but im having fun enjoying ns right know just because it got boring doesn't mean nothing. Evertime you think of your fav game think of NS look what's coming just wait play v1.04 a litter longer it won't huirt to have some laoughs have some fun while you still got v1.04 think of all thw changes in 1.1 look at v1.04 a big driffence look heres what im saying. Forget everthing do what you want but never leave ns you will only make in not fun with out you the more people that play the better it will be wait and see you will find out that all you need is some people you now and have a very good time i play on ns1.redphive.org like 24/7 7 days a week and im a reg there i love it so much not be cause of the game because of the fun the fun of everthing i like to blow up a onos with my knife or kill a fade with lmg or have dog fights with lerks and jp/welders i have lots of fun like that maybe you should try to and see how you like it. Enjoy it why you still can......

I agree. 1.04 is well designed and very fun to play. 1.1 can take their time while 1.04 keeps me company.

I think, after deciphering, he was trying to make a few points.

1.) 1.04 used to be fun.

2.) 1.04 can still be fun. I imagine everyone has had a few good games in 1.04, so dwell on those.

3.) If you end up in a place where team play is no good, focus on your individual skill. You may lose the round, but if you get better, for when 1.1 comes out, then you have won, in a way.

4.) Plug for a server (you can find that yourself).

Personal Note: I think we all realize that there are some serious lame things happening on many of the pubs. I realize that with aliens JP/HMG everyone round gets old.

My advice is to adapt. Early JP/HMG can be stopped, even though it is difficult.

I've seen a mix of one hive lerks and skulks chase off early jp raids. It just takes a mix of luck, teamwork and skill, plus abandoning the norm.

Don't be scared to go for a 2nd gorge early. It can work. I've seen it happen.

Just keep playing and eventually counter strategies will work themselves out for many things.

If every single person stopped playing NS right this instant except for anybody involved in the PT process, it would not hinder 1.1 in any way.

We'll all be back in force when the new version comes out anyway. Personally I don't mind that the dev team are taking their time. We've all seen <b>far</b> too many rushed games out there to actually <b>want</b> Flayra releasing an unfinished product.

I'm not playing much, if any NS at the moment, but you can be as sure as anything that I will be back the INSTANT 1.1 comes out. I don't mind waiting, but seeing as down here in South Pacific (ie Aus & NZ) we've pretty muched gotten the fastest & lamest tactics to winning nailed down to a T, many of the games start to seem extremely short and repetitive. When 1.1 comes out there'll be a long (hopefully) period of adjustment, where different tactics are tried and tested, and the game will slowly evolve, keeping things nice and interesting interesting.

Our problem is that we take things too serious and can't really have fun at NS if we get owned. We ain't satisfied with eating a few marines and chuckling, we want to win. We have to win. Biting the odd JP'er out of the air ain't enough for us, we want to kill all of them. THAT's our problem. Perhaps we should take a moment and reflect on our attitude.

For the moment I have stopped playing NS. Its not just the endless JP/HMG rushes. I enjoy playing the aliens most of the time and its the D/M/S combo every time.

I find myself praying that a gorge puts down something different, anything different. It also seems that fewer people are playing the game to enjoy themselves, they only play to win. This mind set means that the games seem endlessly similar and the only real reason to play is to practice skills.

(I do understand that a lot of people think "Winning" is enjoying themselves, and that improving their skills is fun. I simply don't share these feelings.)

I would put down a different chamber first, however we have all experienced the backlash from doing so by some players. Nobody is obliged to play NS. If you're bored of 1.04, take a break, don't ruin the game for yourself out of a false idea of loyality. I have to admit that I'm myself back on the singleplayer-spree right now.

if i keep playing 1.04 i will be SO SICK of the game... that i wont even bother with 1.1

right now.. DoD v1.0 is amazing and is keeping me well entertained....

1.04 is getting boring because people are playing really **** custom maps now... ie... a map with no cieling... an outdoor map basicaly.... the aliens and marines are on a "U" shaped map and each team has a room with 6 Res towers... bascialy marines win beacuse they get JPs in 3 minutes or so... lame...

Oh I'll be here when 1.1 comes out. So many of the things I found annoying with NS has been resolved. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'> Many of the changes are going to be very exciting. (Electric Rez, More Fluid alien techs.) hmmm..

ya. why just yesterday, i saw a gorge and a few offensive chambers fend off a WHOLE squad of JP/HMGs from a half build hive (LAST ONE, the whole team was waiting for it to finish to spawn). Not only was that, this hive was refinery at bast! with no webs!

i don't play as much NS as i used too, mainly 'cause i'm tired of always playing as kharaa, i now often play at 'rines,and it was fun in the begining,i have discovered th power of shotgun against chambers, although i'm fed up being always given JP/HMG, i'd want more shotguns to be dropped, they demolish RTs at a frightening fast rate(fatser than you knife/weld it).
i also play more on metamod servers(like voogru), things like lerklift and MED-armory make the game alot more fun.

siege005 isn't as bad when you've got reasonable players on the teams, someone said me that onos are only allowed to counter siege(he said something 'bout a readme) and that map became fun, yeah, i spent the majority of the game hunting down lerks(don't complain 'bout GL spam if you spore spam) and i wondered where the **** was, 'till i realized he had cloak. then i slowly aimed my GL at him and scored a direct hit right where it hurts(between the legs i think).

(EDIT: has noone noticed these new smilies? they now got fade,lerk and 'rines smillies! aren't the NS forums a wonderfull thing?)

Two gorges can work. It's when I see 3-4 gorges that I start complaining.

Though, sometimes I'll complain about 2 gorges if the situation just isn't right... There's a time and a place, and if you don't plan a bit for it, just having a second gorge hop in when, say, you're saving for a hive, is NOT good.
