    I think that aliens should be able to destroy stuff. I also think that marines should get 10 health immediately, then 8 health per second for the next 5 seconds. This would mean that healthg spamming is still possible, but a lot more expensive. Also, the healing over time effects would be cumulative. Aliens should definitely NOT get health from medpacks, because that doesn't make sense and it should not be impossible to get health during a fight.

    I think:

    Gorg should be able to spit in the medi kit and when a human uses it he loses 50 hp instead of gaining it.
    Skull should be able to parasite the medi kit and when the human uses it he is parasited.
    Fade should be able to acid bomb the pickups thuse damaging them and if not picked up after a few seconds destoryed
    Aliens should be able to kill pickups using melee attacks and proberly other attacks. but hmgs and stuff should be harder to kill than medkits.

    why should an alien be able to camp by 8 DC's and heal faster than a marine can shoot it, while a marine can't get medpacks? I think the way it currently is, is fine especially after the tech cost to get med spam.

    in any case marines can kill d-towers so why carnt we kill medi kits ? lol



    humans often build a turret farm next to the aliens hive with mines and several marines and a phase gate and then make like 5 seige cannons and watch your hive go by by. thats worse than 8 dtowers

    *marine takes grenades and fires at the dtowers while hmg marines fire at them and watch them fall down*

    Ya, the idea of changing medpacks at all will bring up some balancing issues... Medpacks and Ammopacks are the most basic of marine items. Changing them can mess over the entire game. Carlings idea of possible poisoning of med packs sounds good, but should be toned down slightly if to ever be put in, if gorge spitting in a medpack makes the rine lose 50, then if the comm puts down 2 mps for someone to heal with, all the gorge has to do is spit in both without the marine noticing to kill him. In med spam it would work because the rine is surrounded by mps, so it would just use them quicker. The idea of parasiting mps is just bad. The idea of parasiting is a close to medium range attack for tracking, whats the point if you can set up little med pack site mines for the rines to step on?
    Balancing against med spam is a little hard. I say just limit the ammout of mps in one area. Example "there can only be a total of x mps dropped in one area with in x seconds of eachother"
    Wait, thats not really what I mentr.. um.. basicly each mp has its little timer for x seconds, and if x timers are going within x meters of eachother, you can't drop any medpacks in that area. due to.. nano grid overload or something..

    Also, a little known fact that most lawyers have doctors handwriting..

    it would be cool if you could destroy 'rine pickups. if they aren't fast they'll loose their tuff. or make it possible for the lerks to pick up a pickup and drop it on the 'rines head, doing 50 DMG and stunning him?and if it were a gun, it would go off when it hit the floor and shoot in random direction. would be painnfull if you suddenly have a lerk dropping a HMG on top of a 'rines head(marine: OMG T3H UB3R L3RK 1S DR0PP1NG 0UR 0WN SH1T 0N OUR H34DS!!!!!1111111111111 H3 US3S HAXS!!!!!111111

    Thats not a bad idea - along with a lerklift mod which I think is incredibly usefull, this would own badly. Allthough 50 dmg is a bit too much, maybe like 10? It would disable what is dropped if it was from the right height though. IMagine the funny: OI COME BACK WITH MY HMG! Moments, only leading the marine to a bottomless pit, and dropping the HMG down it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Goodness. I like the idea but KEEP IT SIMPLE:

    Biting a medpack or ammo pack 'destroys' it (ie. disappears or something). That's it.
