2of12 thats not on my server thats drunkens server. no one plays on my server cause the regs keep getting screwed up by the 27016 port and then they join the cs server on port 27015.
Funniest rule i've ever seen was one where the admin said no using the mod comm build. Question then, why was the mod even there? When i asked him he simply said if i catch you using it yer banned... just kinda seemed funny to me.
The good news for those who think its a dumb rule ns2.joe.to will be going down on june 7th. Bad news for me is I have to support 20+ players on a 15 play server bleh.
come play on my server, and ill comm ten times... Ill jp hmg rush everytime, and win every game under 6 minutes. Our server has pretty good regulars so the marines are organized, and ended up owning aliens everygame. Its been 2 months since the last patch, and jp hmg is a problem that needs fixing. If you dont believe me about winning every game in under six minutes, my in game name is drunken_panda, the ip is ns2.joe.to, say you are from the ns forums and ill prove it to you.
No clan stacking is pretty stupid. I understand when it's 7 vs 7 and one team has 5 clannies, but usualy the max is like 3. It's understandable, people want to play with each other because they'll enjoy it more and people like that form clans...

clan stacking becomes a problem when they repeatedly do it game after game. 3 or more clanmates on a team vs pubs can get frustrating for the pubs. I can understand the attraction for clans to do such things. However I highly suggest that those clans get their own servers so they can do whatever they want. What they will find is that if they constantly stack the team and always play their clan against the pubs. They will quickly find themselves playing on an empty server. It is no fun for a bunch of randomly skilled and non-skilled players to be constantly fighting a well organised clan. Getting your butt kicked repeatedly by jp/hmg rush or just a bunch of talented lerks/skulks isn't much fun. Our server frowns upon and strongly discourages clans from repeatedly stacking the teams as it ruins other peoples fun.
The reality is, it's not that clans personal playground. And the server is not there so that they can have fun at the expense of others.
Like I said. They want a playground for that purpose... then they need to get their OWN server.
Wow...you guys should post IPs to these servers, and you admins with your game changing server rules...post yours too. I'll be sure to avoid your server, even post 1.1 because of your stupidity for making up such stupid server rules to begin with.
If you server rules contain anything besides "No cheating, no exploiting, no delaying for game (4 hour, 2 hive lockdown, etc), no excessive mines on walls (or mine crashing the server)"
Then I'll be sure to avoid your server at all costs. If you have a rule as stupid as no JP/HMG at 1 hive, or no building in hive rooms, or no shotguns (someone explain the purpose of that one, please!), you need to not bother to host an NS server, because you aren't playing NS anymore, you are playing "Happy Wanna-be Natural Selection Server" game. The fact that you want people to drop their HMG if the aliens have 1 hive is SO DUMB! They suppose to go kill it with LMGs just because you lost? I suppose you are the same people who ban without question if someone gets 15 kills in 1 game right? Please. Either host the game, or don't host the game. With such stupid rules, people wonder why 1.04 NS is dying.
In closing, post your server IPs when you list your stupid rules, I will avoid your server at all costs...or better yet, I'll come, break your rules on purpose, and get banned, just so I don't have to deal with accidently joining your server again.

I just came back from a server with a rather regular rule, "No b*tching/whining". Fairly basic rule. Then on Tannith the server admin on marines wedged himself in between a box/part of wall sticking out in satcom & proceeded to spawn camp us while the comm just showed him with medpacks/ammo. The wedge was too tight for a skulk to fit inside & the comm dropped a CC above the marine to prevent above attacks. Factor in the duck bugginess & he was invincible.
After about 10 deaths in a row from him I f4'ed. ( Teams were 4 on 4) I play the game to have fun & not to be camped. The admin then demands I get back into the game. I told'em to "knock off the camping in the hiding spot." That's the "stupidiest" rule I've came across since the admin bends it to his favor more.. They really should add a Rants section on this board for people to vent sometimes. I'm sure everyone's come across some idiot players/admins/server they'd like to vent about.

One server had: "The [Arch] clan is banned. If you join you will get your keys unbound, banned and blacklisted on our various other servers." That is my clan, we got banned because we became regulars there and the admins didnt like the way we played. I think it was our various IP rushes/Gorge Rushes that pised them off though. Cant complain, they were good sports for a good month or so.
sorry i've never seen the mod but there is an exploit where if the commanderview is low enough in some areas the comm can +use something and build it from cc.

Heh, I was in one.. NSZ or something.. Natural Selection Zone I think it was, I really don't care. It was 1v1 for the most part (I got a second person for a little while) against a admin. I was aliens. and I got banned.. Why? I complained about how the admin was using god mode. He had a JP/hmg against a gorge and a skulk. Thats god mode in itself. But the fact he stood in front of the 6 ocs I put up at my base because there would be nothing to protect it when I left... and just killed them all in front of me.. Having 7 spit shots (6 ocs and mine) pumped into him every 1.5 seconds. He wondered why I complained.. I just wanted a simple 1 on 1 game to wok on my gorge/oni skills.. Then he kills off my three hives and gloats in the RR about his uber marine "skills". I told him to **** off then he banned me. At least most server admins admit to cheating insted of gloating about it...

Since this rule was weird we always called the admin a *** behind his back like when he wasnt there....
